Well new trail for us coming from Raymond nh. Nice but need to mark better on trails so we no where to kinda go did from. 23 marker to 6 and could find 5 todo the loop back to parking lot. But was good.

So much space for so few people. Tucked away and accessible. My wife and I took our gravel bikes and found plenty of trails for our entry-level skills. Beautiful views along the Essex River. wpascgmchallenging

Willowdale State Forest is very large and spreads from both sides of route 1 and the paths throughout the woods can take you from town to town so make sure to have a map of some sort. The side near Marini Farm in Ipswich is great for mountain biking snow, rain, or shine.

Questions & Answers

Is Willowdale open during Covid? Is parking open? Where is the best place to park?

Patty Wojtowicz | Dec 23, 2020
Steven Lefavour | Dec 24, 2020

Yes open and looking great. Some people wear masks, some don't. Parking and trailhead located on Linebrook Rd. (There's Marini farm stand across the street and about 300 yards east of there) Across the street is another area called Linebrook Woods; haven't checked it out yet. There seems to be parking and trails along Old Right Rd (which runs between Rt 1 and Linebrook) but have been there in person. Maybe you could have a look and let us all know?

Check with the department of fisheries and wildlife. IIRC it is conservation land.
