Love Notes for TLC

I sat at the counter/bar to have some sushi rolls and the chef offered me a complimentary bowl of sushi. The taste was marvelous and the atmosphere was warm, inviting and relaxing. I’m vegan but he offered me fish and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to sample the dish due to his generosity. I enjoyed all the items especially the vegan options I chose. Thank you!

Very pleasant experience at zen park tonight. I ordered the scallops and the flavor was great only complaint is I wish they got a harder sear on the scallops. Overall great time.

Start to finish this was great. The staff was very friendly when I walked in. Sat down and my waiter came over and greeted me with a smile. Everyone from the staff was extremely friendly including the owner who came around to each table and took a couple minutes to speak with everyone. The food was excellent. I started with the Shu-Mai and got the OToro, Tuna and Wagyu Nigiri and a Badger Crunch Roll. All of it was excellent. And to top it all off the kitchen sent me a special tuna dish out. When I asked what it was my waiter said it was just something that the chefs had put together. But if you ask me they should add it to the menu. Definitely one of the highlights of my meal. If you are in Beloit I wound highly recommend.

At first, I was sceptical about eating at a Japanese restaurant in a small Wisconsin city. I've been to many Japanese restaurants that claim they're the best, but this place puts them in their place. I ordered flaming rolls and the Tonkotsu ramen soup. The presentation on the flaming rolls was spectacular and tasted better than the presentation. The highlight of the meal was the Tonkotsu ramen. The noodles were cooked perfectly (al dente), broth was loaded with flavour and the pork belly was delicate. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying other dishes.
