Very courteous and honest. I did good by him. Learned a lot about coins also.

Mike is a very charming guy. But let the buyer beware. He quotes one price on the phone but then charges commission on top of that for coins he is buying. Honest coin dealers charge through the spread. They buy at the wholesale price or "spot" price for that day. Then they sell at the retail price. But Mike also charges a commission on top so you get far less for your coins. He won't tell you this over the phone. Try online dealers like BGASC. you will pay shipping of $12. for a priority package through USPS, but after this you will still get a much higher price for your gold and silver.

Mike has been an indisposable part of my silver journey. I always recommend Hough's Coin Shop to anyone in the High Desert if they need any coins or metal! Thank you for the honest business.

It depends on condition and mint. Call Mike this guy is one of the last truly honest business men
Yes, stop by my shop & I will look at them for you. My retail shop hours are Tues., thru Fri. 10am-5pm. Thank you.
Hello. I mostly buy only U.S. large notes-Gold & silver certificate type. Thank you.
You would need to ask Mike.
Best reference for current values is completed auctions. Try Heritage, Great Collections ebay for current auction prices. Also, try pcgs.com and see what their price guide lists value at. Please let me know if you need any more help. The best way to contact me is by phone (760) 217-5419 or email: houghpreciousmetals@gmail. Thank you.
I don't buy Eisenhower dollars, but if you go to any of the online coin sites and match what you have, you should be able to get an idea of an approximate value of the coin. If you would like help on the coin, I would need to see it in person. Call me (760) 217-5419, to make appt. if you would like. Thank you.
Hi Peggy. No, I don't deal in stamps but if you text your cell# to (760) 217-5419, I will text back contact info. of local guy who is a stamp dealer. Thank you.
The 1927S Walking Liberty Silver Half Dollar is worth around $7 in average circulated condition. The 1951 Franklin Silver Half Dollar in all mint marks (P,D, & S), is worth around $5 in average circulated condition. The 1971 'gold dollar' you listed, (I'm assuming it's a gold plated Eisenhower dollar), which is just worth face value. There are no 1971 U.S. actual gold dollars that I know of. On the 2 silver half dollars, condition can also add value to your coins. For an accurate value of your coins you can bring them to my coin shop to see in person. My retail hours are Tuesday thru Friday 10am-5pm. Thank you.
Though there are legit extremely valuable rare coins posted on YouTube, etc...most of the time, the comparable coins I've seen brought to my shop are not the same valuable coins. I try to encourage people to spend their own time to learn their coins, and sometimes if they see something posted that has potential value, try to contact the person putting that information out to the public. Many of the people posting info. on YouTube are truly trying to help people, just be careful, verify.
Hi Breanne, look on the back (Reverse), of the nickel where it says Five Cents. Do you see a D? That is the mint mark. The only truly valuable 1937 is with the D mint mark and if it is the 3-Legged variety. If you see all 4 legs of buffalo, then it is not worth much at all. Only exception would be if your nickel is in truly un-circulated condition, then would add some value to it. You can also bring it to my shop if you want me to look at the coin for you. Thank you.
Hi Patricia. The only type of currency I purchase at times are the older U.S. large notes/currency. Thank you.
No, I have never seen a 1986 steel penny with a gift stamp on it. Most likely it is just a novelty done by a private mint, so no extra value. Thank you.
Hi Ezra, I'm out of new coin folders, but sometimes I have used ones that I give away so if you're in area sometime, please stop by (16816-D Main, St., Hesperia, Tues-Fri. 10am-5pm), since I might have something that will work for you. I apologize for late response. I'm having issues reading my Google questions. Thank you.
No, I don't grade coins, but I will help you figure out if genuine. We can test it, etc...and I will recommend what I think you should do with coin, maybe send in to PCGS for grade, sell at auction if it turns out to be genuine. I apologize for the late response. I'm having issues reading the Google questions. Thank you.
Yes, any gold & silver Canadian coins, good stuff, I'm a buyer. I apologize for the late response, I'm having technical trouble seeing the questions I'm getting through Google. Thank you.
Hi Josiah. No thank you. When I have them in stock, I actually give them away to young people at times if they are interested in collecting coins. Thanks.
I do both depending on the item. Low mintage, desirable coins, better condition means better $$$. I apologize for the late response. I've been having technical problems reading/viewing my Google questions. Thank you.
Hi Jose. No, I don't buy silverware. I apologize for the late response. I'm having technical problems reading/viewing my Google questions. Thank you.
Yes, but it depends on the mintmark and condition as far as value. If 1908 no mintmark, 1908-D, 1908-O in g(Good Cond.) is approx. $9 retail price. If it's a 1908-S (San Francisco) mintmark, it's worth about $18 better condition worth more. You can locate the mintmark (If any), on reverse of coin below the eagles tail feathers in between the words quarter dollar. If no mintmark, then it is a Philadelphia mint struck coin. Best way for me to value coin is always in person. Please come by shop for free evaluation if ever needed. Thank you.
No, mostly buy gold/silver coins & bars. thank you.
They keep the door locked all day for security reasons. All you have to do is stand there and knock and wait and Mike aka Steve will come unlock it and invite you in.
At times, yes, but mostly buy gold & silver coins. Thank you.
U.S. & Foreign gold & silver coins, & various U.S. collectible coins.
