First time going to SoCal DOT Physicals after all these years of keeping my medical card up to date. Was able to get an appointment the same day. $65 is the most reasonable price I've ever seen for a DOT physical in San Diego. All I had to do was show up with my license and fill out some quick paperwork. The exam itself was quick. No hassles. I have no complaints. Definitely telling my friends.

Easiest DOT physical yet. I arrived 15 minutes early and was out within 30 minutes. They did all the usual checks that other places do but are very efficient at keeping things moving. Will be back in 2 years.

Yes, a driver can receive a DOT medical card with type 2 diabetes. The driver will need to show that his or her sugar levels are controlled (typically via a recent Ha1c) and that there are no other diabetic-related complications that would interfere with the driver's ability to safely operate a commercial vehicle. Typically a DOT medical card is valid for 2 years. However, there are certain medical conditions that could limit your certification.
