Unfortunately cannot vouch for the quality of their products. I have an engagement ring, purchased only less than a year and a half ago which has turned a yellowish color. The wedding band, bought six months later at a different jewelry store is in tact. Both are supposedly 14 Karat white gold. When I showed the sales associate, she explained that white gold needs to be dipped in rhodium to retain its color??? Although this can happen to white gold, how can this color have only lasted for a little over a year when the other looks in tact. I could only attribute it to the quality of the product and the thin layering of rhodium applied compared to the metal from the other jewelry store. Although the sales associate attempted to have it sent for another layering, this is an inconvenience to me, the consumer and the guarantee is not there that it could happen again. Not happy with this store nor the quality of Kay Jewelers.

Go to Kay jewelers if you want to pay 3-4x the price for gold and get totally ripped off. Employees say they “don’t have a scale” and none of the chains say how much they weigh. Employees say “we don’t sell it by weight” Gold is sold by weight and carrot. Just like diamonds are sold by cut, clarity and color. Current 14K gold price is around $32 a gram. And I understand that is not the cost of jewelry as jewelry has labor involved. However I paid $142 a gram for 14 karat gold. As a consumer you were supposed to know what you were buying as far as carat weight and weight of gold. by not giving the customer information on how much something weighs when you are buying gold is a shady business tactic. If you’re not going to give the weight of gold to a consumer you might as well not tell them what carrot the goal is as well. There are plenty of jewelry stores in which display this information on their website.

True Story: 1/22 went to upgrade my wife's ring from 1ct to 2ct ring and replace the battery from my Kay's watch. 1.5 weeks later, they told us the ring is ready and come pick it up. we got there within 45 minutes only to tell us they can't give it to us b/c "system is down". Next day I picked up my wife's ring. 2/18, , I called Luis today to check the status on my watch and they said call back in an hour bc they have TOO MANY customers so I said here's my number too if you get a chance, give me a call. (customers on the phone not important I guess). 3 hours later no call. I've called them 60X (I have receipts) and counting- no answer. According to Luis, resizing the ring takes a lot longer than replacing a battery from my watch. xmas over, v-day over, I've passed Kays store many times and I doubt is super busy. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WHEN YOU'RE NOT IN PERSON-FACTS!
