Rachel and Tony run a clean and loving shelter. Great shelter but I noticed another review states this shelter does NOT euthanize! I worked here and unfortunately it does euthanize! That's why we stress the importance of spaying and neutering! Please remember when u get a furbaby it's forever not until you no longer want them!

Found a stray dog in MHC. The animal control officer with the MHC police was not working that day. Called the county and they refused to come get the dog. I will not support them anymore.

I had lost my dog and saw on online that he had been taken to the shelter. When I went to pick him up the shelter was closed to the public due to them doing some cleaning. However they didn't make me wait until the next day. They allowed me to go in and bring my dog home. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Great place to volunteer !!!
Think the Humane Society on Hibbs Road will do inexpensively.
No you have to contact them and see if they have space DO NOT DUMP AT GATE THAT IS A FELONY
They probably won't, but google pet sitters near you. I found a great place for my daughters dog
Yes you can
The application asks if you are at least 21 and who will be responsible for the pet.
I'm so sorry to hear. 😢 I THINK if you take him here, they will likely treat him like the other animals until he dies. The vet will put him down for you. You can call and ask them tho!
Probably 18. There are also volunteer positions
I'm not fo sure
It ranges from $70-$125. Depending on dog/cat and spay/neutered. Sometimes there are specials going on at a reduced cost!!
They have new puppies that come in as they are rescued. Best bet would be to stop by and fill out an application for adoption and then make periodic stops to see the puppies. As a volunteer I've seen many dogs come through and get adopted and many are puppies rescued or surrendered.
They prefer grain free purina but also take in other types and distribute them to those in need to keep their animals healthy!
Call them
I think they are full right now
Yes she is s still available as of yesterday she will need to be and only pet and they have probably 50 applications on her already her name is Prada your best bet is to go to the Humane Society and check her out for yourself and even if she is not a good fit there are lots of other dogs available for adoption
I highly doubt that.
They have a complete list on their website of all items needed, including volunteers and dog walkers.
Go to animal control, next to the health dept in Morehead City... they have a program to help cover that cost.
I was once a slow dog wallker but has to stop due to Parkinsons disease. They are always looking for additional help. Just give them a call or visit
Depends on what they have available. But they must be weaned from their momma. Usually 8-10 weeks.
They are a low kill shelter ! I do believe they try not to except when necessary. I too volunteer occasionally.
