If you expect to get your $500 deposit back. Don't. I lived at this location with my wife for a year. We rented a 1 bedroom. We cleaned and maintained the apartment very well, however we are charged in total of $475 during move out. When inquired about why, we were informed they needed to paint the apartment in addition to general cleaning and carpet cleaning. I am usually a very clean person, so when I heard about this I was outraged. Upon move out me and my wife cleaned the apartment to the best of our abilities. I even went above and beyond scrubbed the bottom side of the toilet and cleaned the tiny little bit of dust on the baseboard for the whole unit that accumulated over the year. To make the matter worse the leasing office by mistake charged us the move out utility of over $100 twice. If we didn't thoroughly go through the bill line by line we would lost that money for nothing. Speaking of which, on the first month of billing the similar mistake happened which they incorrectly calculated our bonus. We asked Anson after going through the bills and they corrected this mistake. If you are not careful here you will get charged by "accident" twice for stuff you have paid. Just keep in mind for that. Anson's justification was they do this to all unit upon move out regardless of the condition. We didn't put holes in the wall and the wall is as you expect, a wall. It can only change so much in a year. We didn't trash the place when we moved out and no excessive cleaning is needed. So if you think you are putting down a deposit, just be mindful Anson refer to this deposit as a down payment. Some of additional things that happened to us during the year. We had 1 instance of ant infestation in the unit. One day the ants just started crawling out of the walls. We live on the 3rd floor. Pest control guy came 2 days later after the initial problem to put some ant killing gel on the kitchen surface. Over the next two days the ants ate the gel and were killed. We still had to clean up 100s of dead ant ourselves. Pest control said when they build the building the construction team could've left food residue in the walls which led to ants inside the walls. Another issue we had was when we live there it rained 2-3 times. During rain the basement parking flooded and the stairway flooded. The stairway stank for a whole two weeks. The elevator was down due to flooding for about 5 weeks. During rain water would seep through the concrete structure down to the car park and many people's cars including ours were stained with concrete lime from rain water run offs leaking through the basement car park ceiling. Anson only sent an Email to notify everyone to wash their car since these stains can damage the car paint. Let's just say if you plan to go on a vacation, you either have to have a car cover over your car or you better hope it does not rain. Speaking of rain the unit also lost power multiple times for multiple days. Oddly enough surrounding building didn't have much issues. The apartment has instances of break-in at someone's parked car even when the parking entrance of fob gated. Anson hired so brief security and later it was discontinued. On the topic of fob Anson uses a wireless door system that is digital lock powered by battery. our neighbor was trapped outside waiting at night for a service team after coming home from groceries shopping because her door lock, which is managed by Anson, ran out of battery. There was no way she could enter her apartment. She sat on the floor of the hallway with all her frozen goods. Luckily we were home so we let her use our fridge and stay until service team arrived. It took over several hours at night for Anson to address this. Anson's package system is a complete mess. Fire alarm false trip multiple times forcing you to evacuate sometimes during working hours others during middle of the night. Nice Chris who works for Anson is no longer with Anson, sadly. Nearby train is super loud. Very poor wall insulation for noise. The list of things goes on...

Bad experience with Caltrain noise and occasional unavailable hot water, electricity or false fire alarm(usually happening between 12am-5am!!!) The mailroom is always messy and package or bike got stolen. How can an apartment claim itself as a luxury apartment with such inconveniences.
