Had to take the train a few years back to DC. Simple and easy. Only complaint was the terrible coffee from the vending machine. Staff was friendly and professional.

Beautiful station with plenty of places to sit inside and out. The upper and lower parking lots and area in front of the station are paved with cobblestones and so pretty!! There is parking and passenger drop off and pick up on the upper and lower lots.

Yes, about 40 free parking spots. They fill up very quickly, though.
Sorry but I dont know. I've never gone there.
3 or 4
The station is beside the city bus terminal, so the whole town is accessible. There is a small pub beside the station and a couple of diners and bars in walking distance. There are no hotels nearby, unless you look downtown. The station has wooden benches inside, and I have been there late at night, but I think they close it down and lock it up between the last train of the night and the first departure of the morning.
Both the regional and the crescent stop in Alexandria va. Yes, you can buy a round trip ticket. Online at the station or on the app.
8:36pm leaves 8:39pm.
None that I'm aware of.
