SWIMMING: I am not sure about the signs like at other beaches but my kids and I swim there all summer long. I believe we breath worse chemical influence just living in the city. The water is usually warmer than other beaches because it is within the breakwalls. I would recommend staying out of the water after a heavy rain because there seems to be two discharges within the stretch of that Beach and the coast guard station.
They are allowed on a leash. But there is a little beach to the South by the bike path with a lot of trees covering it where people walk their dogs off leash when there is nobody there (technically not allowed)
