Go to the V.A hospital on Gravier Street or the Rebuild Center if your in New Orleans area
They have a new shelter on the second floor now, don't know the details yet but you can ask the Travelers aid people about it , and ask about green light as well, they feed out of the living whitness building on oretha Castle Haley Highway near Martin Luther King Boulevard and ask for Sarah they can sometimes help to
It is going to depend on if they have 1. Received funding for rental assistance this month and 2. And if they did if there is any money left. Get there early, 0730 AM on a weekday and see ask to speak to a Social Work. Take with you all relevant paperwork, rental agreement, eviction notice, other bills due/paid, and proof of income from employment.
Tell him to visit the VA and ask to speak with the DDD outreach specialist, whose job it is help people get those bus to leave town
Go to the VA hospital and ask to speak with the DDD outreach specialist. They will help y'all get free bus tickets out of town
Go to the rebuild hut you have to be there before seven
Salvation army and travelers aid
No. Travelers Aide is not a shelter. You need to call 211 for shelters in the area. One suggestion is Salvation Army. Travelers Aide would be able to provide you with information.
Try 1530 Gravier St Monday to Fridays...get in line before 6 am. Gate opens at 7 am and Travelers Aid opens at 7:30 a.m... Ask for Ms Khalis or Ms. Katie to see about help. The office stays open till 3pm. (504) 412-3700 Press 1 then 53952
You have to have an ID just to get into any shelter. Tuesday mornings at the rebuild, which is down the street from Travelers Aid, does a raffle system to get ID's. BeBe then picks everyone up to go to a DMV...then return to the rebuild. All ID's are at no cost and can get picked up before the rebuild closes. As far as Vouchers they only give them out at travelers aid when they have them...whenever salvation army gives them any. & it's first come first serve.
She has a New Orleans ID. Thank you for response back to me and I did call Travelers Aid.
If you are homeless in New Orleans and seeking to live with your son Travelers Aid will help you relocate to Fayetteville NC. After verifying that information with him. If the visit is due to another reason ie. Illness, or death you will need to contact the Christian Associations such as Saint Judes. Travelers Aid can give you a list of charities in that case . Travelers Aid is open Monday through Friday 730 AM 4PM. You need to get there early.
