Easy, responsive, and professional. They may not be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for!

Basement remodel The only problem I had, is with sales. Told approximately 2 month to start, ended up to be 8 months. But, the gentlemen were professional, they did a good work and accommodating. I would recommend.

THEIR SYSTEM WORKS AND THEIR SERVICE IS EXCELLENT! I’m upgrading my review of CT Basement Systems (see original below) because after the heavy rainstorm of last week my house was the ONLY house on the block with a 100% dry basement. I went out in the yard to look at the drain for the sump pump, and it was gushing water—water that never made it into my basement! As you will see from the review below, I first gave a poor review because no one told me I’d need to leave my basement walls open for a full year to make sure the system was working. This left my basement an impenetrable mess because I couldn’t put my shelving units back up. After this first review a service rep came to visit and suggested a reorganization that allowed me to reshelve about 75% of my stuff. Next month I’ll put the walls back up and reshelve the rest of it. These people genuinely care that their products and services are working properly. When something goes wrong, they go the extra mile to put it right. And last week the system they installed for me worked, saving me hours of mopping and bailing. Original review starts here: MY BASEMENT WILL REMAIN TORN UP FOR 365 DAYS! I hired Connecticut Basement Systems to waterproof the western wall of my basement. Six days later, during the October Nor’easter, pinprick leaks occurred along the seam where the new concrete met the old concrete floor. Given that the job had just been completed, I felt someone from CT Basement Systems should come take an immediate look. Nope. It took seven weeks for a CT Basement tech to arrive. By then all I could show him was the magic-markered areas where the leaks had occurred. Highlights of our conversation follow. He said nothing could be done. He eventually amended that to say the “fix” would be to jackhammer out all the existing work and install a higher-capacity pipe. And before they’d commit to this, they’d want the homeowner to observe and document how the existing work handles all four seasons. He said for this reason they advise their clients to leave the waterproofed wall open for a full year. I said the salesman told me that after thirty days I could rebuild my inner wall and put everything back in order. Once again, nope. My basement looks like a scene from a hoarder’s show: the inner wall, the sink, my husband’s tools, the shelving units and their contents, all piled in a jumble in the middle of the room. I can’t find any of the household supplies I store down there. And I’ll have to live like this till next October. If I do show further leaks, I have no idea what if anything CT Basement Systems will do about it. (And by the way, why didn’t they install the higher-capacity pipe in the first place?)

Two men came out to service my dehumidifier unit. They were on time, so courteous, and efficient. They provided all the information on what they did, and they were very respectful of the property.

Is it true that the pipes need to be serviced every year?

Charles Bennett | Sep 13, 2019
Connecticut Basement Systems | Sep 13, 2019

While we do recommend annual service on our sump pumps and dehumidifiers every year to keep them running effectively, it is not a requirement. It's the same mentality as getting your car's oil changed after a certain period of mileage. If you have questions on our service department please call us at 800-541-0487 and ask to speak with the service department.
