Fantastic food, and will be an amazing experience if the service gets tightened up a little. Or maybe just a rough day today? This is a classic take on a New England restaurant and pub. Our party of three went for lunch in the early afternoon of a Monday - a fairly slow time of day. We were seated promptly and asked if we had a drink order before ordering apps or entrees. Our beers and soda arrived promptly and were all quite good. Two of us ordered seafood dishes, one ordered the turkey spinach wrap. Food came quickly! Our first downer is that we had also ordered an appetizer, a spinach dip that unfortunately was never delivered. The wait staff apologized profusely, no problem taking it off the bill. Given the size of the entrees and how quickly our meals arrived I think it was for the best - we were so full at the end of our lunch if we had started with an appetizer we wouldn't have been able to get through the entrees as well as we did! The fried seafood (scallops, shrimp and cod) were done beautifully. The breading was crisp with the seafood moist and wonderful on the inside. The fried cod was piping hot! The sides (french fries and onion rings) were also cooked nicely on all three plates. The turkey in the wrap was clearly sliced from a breast (like a turkey dinner) and generous in portion, with ample spinach to balance the wrap out. The other downer was that after leaving the check with us, our waitress left and never came back to pick up the payment. We went up front and were told we needed to pay the waitstaff... which we would have, if they had come back within 10 minutes of leaving the check. The restaurant was not busy. This could have been just a hiccup day. It was by no means anything that would make us hesitate to come back! Looking forward to more beers and fantastic food there!

This is a great local place close to the Melorse/Stoneham border which have been around a long time. The atmosphere is very laid back and a relaxing place to go for a drink or dinner. They have delicious food at very reasonable prices. They served fresh pop corn at the bar and have karaoke on Fridays which is lots of fun! Also, there's a huge parking lot so you don't have to drive around looking for parking. If you live in Melrose, Stoneham or in the city and you don't want to drink and drive, the 132 bus stops right outside!
