New River Campground and Canoe

New owners now hire sheriff’s deputies to patrol campgrounds. If it’s past 10pm and you’re hanging out they will/have threatened to revoke your pass and kick you out. It’s not the same. It’s not a friendly private area anymore. Me and my family will not be coming here again for camping and private time. You will pay for the same thing as living in the city.

My family and I stayed at New River Campground and Canoe for seven days. Coming from the north, we could not have asked for better weather; the sun was shining, the trees were in full bloom, and the river was excellent. The staff was extremely hospitable, and made sure our group was well taken care of. One day we did the 5-mile canoe trip with 8 people, and Justin, our shuttle driver, did an excellent job of explaining the nuances of the river, and most importantly safely transporting us up river to the launch site. I would highly recommend this campground to anyone looking to camp in the south eastern United States, and I can not wait to return!

Had a very nice stay, the owners were extremely nice! Will definitely be revisiting! Area and campground are both beautiful!
