The staff are always great and kind but the prices have gotten outrageous here. You're going to be paying consignment/antique store prices, not thrift prices. Big crummy vases- $15. Old candle holders that are corroded and the silver plate …Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I'm sorry to hear you had such a frustrating experience, but I really appreciate you bringing your concerns to my attention. Our primary mission is to raise funds for the programming carried out by the YMCA at Virginia Tech, all the while keeping in mind that we make sure that the majority of our items that are for general consumption are priced below the resale market place. The only exception is in "high line", designer, or name brand goods with little to no signs of wear. All proceeds from our Thrift Shop are directly invested in our many local community programs as described on our website at www.vtymca.org . Other than a thrift store you can also recycle batteries and cfl light bulbs here! Its great; just drop them off inside their marked bins inside the front door the next time you drop stuff off or are there to shop. You can also buy some school supplies like binders, which is great for college students because that stuff gets expensive after a while. Good variety! Great place to pick up a waterbottle or travel mug. Lots of variety with a decent and ever-changing selection of electronics and dvds. LOTS OF BOOKS and some vinyls as well! They sell used magazines too which is nice if you need a little entertainment.
