The animals roam free on the huge piece of land. Most animals are friendly and approachable. They appear very healthy and very well taken care of. We've been visiting Lazy 5 since 2000 and have always enjoyed it. The zoo is fine but at Lazy 5 you get to feed and pet the animals! It's an amazing experiencea
That's exactly where I took my 2 yr old
What is the cost to ride through with my car
General admission: $11 per adult (12 yrs & over) $8 per child (2-11yrs) or senior (60 yrs & over). General admission includes the walk around petting area and the drive-through in your own vehicle. Wagons: $16 per adult $11 per kid or senior BY RESERVATION ONLY SO CALL AHEAD. Wagon includes the horse-drawn carriage, petting area, and drive through WARNING: THIS FACILITY IS CASH ONLY. NO PETS OR SERVICE ANIMALS ALLOWED VIA USDA RULES AND REGULATIONS REGARDING PRIVATELY OWNED FACILITIES.
I called in the morning and they picked up immediately and took my reservation.
Open year round 7 days a week excluding Christmas day and two weeks in February when animals get vaccinated. (Ranch may also close unexpectedly due to poor weather conditions so call ahead.) Open 9am Monday- Saturday Close an hour before sunset. Open Sunday at 1pm Close one hour before sunset. Closing times fluctuate depending on the season so call ahead. Plan on coming at the lastest two hours prior to closing to do everything (the earlier the better though). Best to come early/ mid-morning so you have the whole day to enjoy this beautiful ranch. Ex. Closing time: 7:30 pm Latest arrival: 5:30 pm Closing time: 6 pm Latest arrival: 4 pm Closing time: 4 pm Latest arrival: 2 pm WARNING: THIS FACILITY IS CASH ONLY. NO PETS OR SERVICE ANIMALS ALLOWED VIA USDA RULES AND REGULATIONS REGARDING PRIVATELY OWNED FACILITIES.
Yes you can. You should speak to one of the employees about the way to the feed different kinds animals. Because some of them can be dangerous.
It's 3 miles and drive time will depend on how crowded it is. Took us about 1 hour to hour and have. We got there early
Group rates for 15+ people (admission, feed bucket, and wagon ride) is $10/ea.
It has been over a year since I have been there but i fed the zebras. Just saw these disturbing accusations online and i wanted to say i have been there countless times and the animals are well cared for even happy there. I am shocked that anyone would think animal abuse of any kind happens there. It is a WONDERFUL place to go! You don't need to call ahead either just show up when it is open they will take great of you. I don't live close to there now but am planning to go tomorrow for my birthday!
Keeping it simple with just cash... Saving money not having to pay the credit card processing fees...
It’s actually cash or check. I think you have to be a NC resident to write a check.
You will have to pay to get in and park it though
Yes, after you finish the drive through where the bathrooms are you can feed the donkeys so save some food
12 for adults and 9 for kids and for the bucket food 3 dollars
No, this is truly an Excursion that is more enjoyable when the weather is fair!
You're best bet is to call and see if you can get a group rate. Also, if everyone is comfortable with animals, the wagon ride is the way to go. Anyone who doesn't want the animals near them can sit on the bench in the middle. Have a great time! It's a wonderful place!
I just called them and they said that if you show your military ID you would get a extra bucket feed for the animals
Do you know when or how I can find more information on the selling of the animals
I think it's all up to your risk. As long as animals are not injured
Yes, pictures are allowed and encouraged. Remember windows can be down but doors have to stay shut and you must stay in the vehicle at all times when driving through the trail. The animals are free roaming. The trail is at your own pace so you're more than welcome to stop and take few pictures! For close up picture (in your face type pictures) I recommend buying a few feed buckets. There is also a walk around petting area with lemurs, porcupines, and various types of birds. The peacocks are the only free-roaming birds outside of the drive-through so don't be surprised if you see them walking around acting like they own the place :)
Yes, the only times they are not open Saturdays would be due to weather as the trails would be unsafe to drive through. ALL CASH ONLY General admission: $11 per adult (12 yrs & up) $8 per kid and senior (seniors are 60 yrs and up) Feed buckets: $3 (1 size, a half gallon) ------------------------------------------------- Wagon: MUST CALL A FEW DAYS PRIOR TO RESERVE (Horse-drawn carriage) Adults: $16 per adult $11 per kid and senior
They have a little snack shop with ice cream and chips etc... but not actual meals.
No they are a drive at your own risk. Call ahead and book a seat on a wagon is your best bet to insure your cars safety.
I had the same issue, just keep calling
*are*... and probably because veterans day is on the eleventh not the tenth
I'm pretty sure you can. I saw people doing it the last time we went. Looks like its the best place to be!
They close at 5
Adults $15 Children (2-11) $11 Senior Citizens (60 and up) $11 **Wagon rides add $6 for adults and add $4 for children and seniors** Cash ONLY, NO debit/credit cards
I would go in the morning but call ahead and get in the wagon. I would call to check when the wagon rides close due to the heat. It might be cheaper to take a Lyft i you don't live near Mooresville.
By car: . Adult - $15 . Child >2y - $11 . Senior - $11 By wagon: Adult - $21 Child >2y - $15 Senior - $15 Feed - $3/bucket
The Smoke Pit. Try the brisket burnt ends.
It is $15 a per adult and $3 a bucket for feed. Also they only accept cash and check. No cards
They should be the best thing to do I would call them to make sure
Senior discount
Yes. It’s ONLY drive through. You can buy feed as your enter the place (3 bucks a bucket - cash only), and then feed the animals as you drive! Careful with the zebras! They’re known to mistake windows for food
Anytime during the week is best!
It took us 2 hours and 15 minutes and then I was ready to go around again. You can take as long as you want and stop for every single animal you see and they're quite a few. If you go early make sure you buy plenty of food because those animals are always hungry.
Probably when NC moves to Phase 3-4
Dont know im sure they would give you the pumkins.. they had a lot for display in the pictures. Pumkin pics are free if you stop to take them.
Put in lazy 5 ranch it pulls up
There is water in streams all around.
11 dollars per adult, 8 dollars children under 8 years, and there is also a price per car depending on the number of people, (large trucks or buses).
11 for adults 8 for kids 3 for bucket of feed. Be prepared to be in your car for at least 4 hours or more
Yes. There is a 3.5 mile loop you can drive through in your car where the animals roam freely. You can purchase buckets of food and feed them from your car windows. The animals know the food buckets and will come right up to your car to eat.
Not really in trouble, they advise you not to...it is so much fun to ride the wagon...you get plenty of chances to feed a lot of animals...it would be a lot nicer to be warmer weather, cold on those wagons
I mean no harm. But, even if it were allowed, that just doesn't sound like a good idea.
picnic, playground, and bathrooms
About 15 - 20 people. Not sure about reservations, drove through. But plan on riding next time, place was great. Get a lot of food, it goes quick.. Have fun
It pays to take the wagon. You're free to check out the animals and ask the driver lots of questions.
I'm not sure but they're very open they will tell you anything you want to know about anyting if they know the answer they are willing to tell you call and ask or go see I hope you have a great time I love the Lazy 5 Ranch
I went as a chaperone with a day care & it was $10 per person & $2.50 for the feed..we rode on the wagon.
15 per person and 10. When you go in group. People. More than 10
When we were done with the wagon ride I saw strollers sitting along a fence. I would just make sure you take your most important belongings with you:wallet, cell's,electronics.
Normal day is $11 for adult $8 for children and seniors 2 and under free Wagon rides are a little extra but this is general admission price so you get the whole area for the price. Food buckets are extra aswell
10 to 15 dollars. Depends if you going with a group of people.
The giraffes have a good space for them, the reason why the giraffes are in this area is because if they were free they could not capture them when they were sheltered at night or during the winter
I didn't know where or how the animals were obtained but inbthe flyer you receive it talks about adherence to NC regulation and inspectors.
Only Cash. No ATM, no banks around. No lunch, just burgers, ice cream and soda machine.
Yes , For adults 5$ and for kids 3$, you have to call them and block a slot for you
I believe it opens at 9
Generally if anything is not available due to weather they post on their facebook and website. Otherwise , yes even on cooler days all of the animals are able to be viewed.
16 for an adult wagon ride.
Got to make reservations for wagon rides online . Prices are listed and event's
Enjoyable for all ages! Best to wagon ride for great experience!! Call ahead for reservations!!!
Yes, the ranch is open year round but hours do fluctuate per season. It is best to call ahead to double check the hours as google hours aren't always accurate.
Yes as long as the truck tailgate is up. There has to be a barricade between you and the animals due to USDA rules and regulations.

Sheep, goats, llamas, bison, brahmas plus many more. Can not pet zebras or giraffes. Never did get to pet a pig either.

If it rains the wagon you reserved will still go out. If it thunders and lightenings it has to go back and they do not give rainchecks or refunds. The wagon has no roof so prepare accordingly. If the wagon is canceled due to the trails being unsafe they try to call a day in advance to let everyone know. People who would like to drive through should check the weather ahead of time and call if they have any questions. The drive through will still be open if it rains. If it is a light mist the animals are normally still out and about. If it rains a bit harder or storms the majority of the animals seek shelter. If it is too hot (about 85°+) animals will also seek shelter. If it is 90° or higher the wagons will be canceled as it will be to hot for the horses to pull the wagons. They try to call in advance to let everyone know if the wagon is canceled.
Yes wagon rides but they usually want you to call ahead to reserve. There's a giant wooden playset and wooden swings. Also there was a little snack bar but we didn't get anything. Oh yes and a petting zoo kinda area to walk through! Easy to spend several hours there.
16 for adults and 11 per child, i think. Its worth it. Just make sure you get on the wagon ride by calling office and scheduling.
All kinds. Llamas, buffalo, deer, emu's, ostriches, water buffalo, and maybe a few others that I can't think of right now. It's just a good long drive where you can enjoy the animals. I would definitely recommend buy a couple buckets of feed though. I can see how it could get kind of boring if you're just sitting there with nothing to give the animals.
This is a google map site. Contact Lazy 5 instead!
No they do not have snakes. They have birds, bulls, cows, sheep, camels, ostrich, pigs, zebra, deer, and a few others I'm sure I missed.
Take the wagon!!!!!! $16/8 adults/kids. $3per bucket of food

As previously stated their hours do fluctuate per season so it may take a while for google to update the correct hours. No carrots. Only their feed is allowed.
No
When my kids are there you could say yes, but other than that no Monkeys.
I liked being in our car. Could go at your own pace and roll windows up when the llamas get piggy!
Wagon ride is $16 per adult ages 12+, $11 kids age 4-11, 3 & Under free. If you drive your own vehicle, the prices are $11 for adults, $8 for kids. The wagon ride includes 1 bucket of animal feed per person; in your own vehicle, you must purchase separately for $3 each.
I don't recommend coming the days of the Easter Eggstravaganza if you aren't interested in the egg drop. The line to check in is normally 2 lanes but it is ALWAYS out to the highway the majority of the day. Could take the better part of an hour+ just to check in. Lazy 5 Ranch has to have a detour road just to get around its traffic. Sometimes the line on the highway is so long you have to wait in it just to get to the detour road. They try very hard to get people checked in as soon as possible. Normally on busy days like that, they have 6-8 registers open compared to their normal 2. They have police help with traffic as well. All in all, it is VERY busy during the Easter Eggstravaganza. Hours are normally 9am-7:30pm mon-sat and 1pm-7:30pm during this season only. Must be in ranch by 5 would leave your home much earlier to account for the traffic you'd be waiting in. Call volume is very high during this time so it may be hard to get in touch with a customer service representative.
No pets or service animals allowed due to USDA rules and regulations. If you bring an animal it is mandatory for them to ask you to leave. It is not an option to leave the animal in the car, with an employee, or right outside the entrance unattended.
Goats are a big problem. Any small animal will try to keep the leg on your car and scratch it. Don't roll down window for small animals. And it goes without saying don't encourage animals with horns
I thought the only time they closed was Christmas day and if we get a lot of snow. That's a long drive for most folks. Sorry that happened.....
No refunds due to weather. Best place ever. Been there 4 times. 100%
