We loved it! Lovely family feel. There wasn't a huge amount of selection left but that's definitely from us being late this year, and even so we got a lovely tree. Prices were great, especially this year with the price hike for trees, our tree was cheaper than any at home depot. Staff was very helpful. Definitely going back next year!

#notgenuinecutyourown #overpriced #betterplacestocutdownatree (1) Overly complicated buying process (if you're coming for the normal "cut down your own Christmas Tree" experience). 7-Step Process: (1) Pick a tree; (2) walk back to baler to get an attendant to accompany you back to (3) watch you cut down the tree (supervised) or cut it down themselves); (4) walk back to the baler to get a tag for your tree; (5) walk what felt like 1/4 mile to the house to pay the bill (cash only and +tax); (6) walk back what felt like another 1/4 mile to the baler to get your tree; (7) finally bring the tree to your car. Additionally, when I paid cash, I was asked for my phone number and mailing address. I asked why they need my personal information to buy a Christmas Tree with cash and they made some excuse about needing it for people who pay by check...what?! (2) We felt lied to: Emailed Pachet Brook to ask about tree prices and was told: "We do have smaller trees that range from $25 to $60." --> The lowest priced tree was $50+Tax. Was this to just get us "in the door?" (3) Tax for Cut Your Own Christmas Trees? For an item that could easily be priced to include tax, Pachet Farms decides to add tax at the end. First time I've ever seen this in 40 years of buying Christmas Trees. (4) Cash only: Literally one of the last places on planet earth that doesn't take card...the vendors pushing plush toys in shopping carts at the Fall River Children's Parade take card. Is this: "get with the times" or "overcharging customers" and not reporting accurate tax? I'd be happy to see the State of Rhode Island and/or IRS conduct an audit to ensure the extra 7% up-charge is actually going to the people or is it kept under the table. Bottomline: A nickel's worth of free advice - We go to a Christmas Tree Farm to have the EXPERIENCE of cutting down a tree. You aren't selling a Christmas Tree, you're selling an experience. You failed. You're overly complicated process made us feel uncomfortable and resulted in a less enjoyable experience. If I wanted someone else to cut down my tree, I'd just go to a closer Tree lot or Stop & Shop. If I drive out of my way into the countryside to a farm to cut down a tree, I want the experience of picking a tree and cutting it down with my family without a chaperone. The highest compliment my daughter can give is, "can we go here again?" This was the first place we've ever visited that she asked, "can we not go here again?"

Very friendly and accommodating stuff. The Hayride through the woods is great for kids.
