On this Sunday evening, I went to the Wichita, KS store to look at pistol upgrades for a new firearm I’d just purchased. Knowing Cabela’s is a “firearm friendly” place of business, I brought my new piece in its hardcase without ammo, brand new, as to ensure proper fit of potential accessories bought. 10 minutes into my search, a short, bald security officer approaches me. Asks if I checked my gun up front. No I said. Isn’t your store “gun friendly”? He starts putting his hands on my piece without asking. I ask him to stop. He demands I put the pistol in its case and be escorted out of the building. On our walk out he says there is no point in making a fuss to management, because HQ doesn’t listen to customers. I ask him if there is signage out front concerning Cabelas expectations concerning these matters? He said “I don’t know”. Upon getting outside, I had shown him there is no signage. I ask “So we may C&C in here loaded without checking in up front but must check in up front with an u loaded pistol in its hard case? He turned around and walked off. It’s obvious that a simple “Hey, next time please check your firearm up front”, would’ve been appropriate. The rent-a-cop was looking for confrontation unnecessarily. Sorry Cabelas but you lost my business. There’s plenty of ma n pa shops that sell firearms AND allow them in store. Kiss my American butt goodbye.

Cabela's is always a fun place to be, from amazing rifles to outdoor gear, it has it all! I love coming here even if it's just to walk around, but I'm usually buying something on the way out haha

Okay folks, so this place is much the same as its other stores. Camping, hiking, clothes, hunting, you name it they got it and more. So, whats the downside you ask, prices are a little higher but quality matches the prices. They do have a small diner style spot inside and lined move faster than you'd think. I personally like their gun library and at times have found a good price on a used one there. However, mostly I visit for their camping and first-aid section. Ladies and the dudes who don't like this stuff, let your better half visit Cabelas and if you're looking for a project visit Hobby Lobby literally next door. See my post on them for this. It can be a win/win trip for all. Enjoy.

Great store with everything you need for the outdoors. I picked up some flannel shirts for 18 bucks each…very good deal. Also little carhartt coats for the dogs.

Every Saturday between now and Christmas from 10am to 2pm.
They do sell Uncle Buck's which is a Bass Pro brand. Not sure if that is what you want.
Yes there will be another opportunity, but I do not recall when the next listed date is.
Sorry I have no idea I only shop for fishing equipment there.
Yes
I agree, but many times items are shipped from different locations (directly from the manufacturer), so the other item may come soon as long as it is not backordered. You should be able to track your orders online.
Yes
The initial invest in the bow and accessories could run between 300 to 600 dollars depending on what you by. Then your membership to your preferred club and/or cost of tournaments or meets you decide to do.
Please check online for in-store same day pick up, or call the store. They'll be able to help you immediately. I'm not sure of on hand stock and because I'm at work, I can stop to go look for you
Look online, if they're available today for in-store pickup, then yes!!
Call the store for details, as that's what I'd have to do in order to get you the information. Good luck! 🐇
Guns from an outside source are handled differently than firearms you order online. They are handled by a single specialist that scours sources to find exactly what you need. When it is received at the store, in addition to the normal ATF compliance checks it must be reviewed by the specialist to ensure that they received exactly what was ordered, and that all the paperwork checks out. If the firearm comes in on a Thursday, and goes through normal receiving processes, it may not be ready for the specialist to review until Monday. It is indeed a process, but they do it to protect both you and their company. Special order firearms are just that, special. And most retailers don't mess with them. Cabela's goes above and beyond to offer that process.
Yes they do, which makes it nice. You can take the class, then go buy supplies. Giggles
Available on line, but out of stock in Wichita. Other styles/models are available in store.
