It seems as though these doctors are only concerned about their income and not helping the community. On June 7th I sustained an injury to my right wrist where I placed in a cast and told to seek a hand surgeon. I moved to Florida shortly after my injury. I was told that every hand specialist at Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute- San Marco had declined to even meet with me. When I asked why I was told, "Well our doctors do not have to provide you with a reason." It took 3 phone calls for someone to tell me I was declined by ALL of their staff because I had been seen by another doctor. They had access to my medical records which showed that I had been in a cast for less than a month. I had never seen a hand surgeon before. I was extremely disheartened as a young black woman and a new resident that no one cared enough to even see me or show any empathy throughout the multiple calls made. I called the Southeast Orthopedic Institute and was able to schedule an appointment for the very next week. I recommend spending your hard earned money at any other institute.

I thought I would be forced to take pain meds for rest of my life or surgery since my appt I haven't needed any and am pain free

I just had surgery by Carl Freeman. Wasn't a replacement, but I am very happy with him and his staff. He's got great reviews online, as well.
Only our Riverside Division and Fleming Island JOI since Baptist is out of network with Humana Gold and only those two divisions work in other hospitals.
