Lydia Taft nursing staff killed my father. Run as far from this place as you can. Horrible workers. If you care for your loved ones don't put them here even if just for a couple of weeks. I don't want anyone to have to go through what I've been through. They were reported to the state. And if their social worker calls you hang up!! She's a full blown liar!!

My Dad was recently discharged from Lydia Taft and we could not have been more pleased with the care! It was a very difficult time to have a loved one in a nursing home and we were so worried. We were unable to visit him in the traditional way so we stood outside his window. Everyone that works there smiles and is so helpful. From the nursing director Pam, the administrator Tony to everyone else. The housekeeper and laundry lady always said hello to my Dad. The medical care he received and the excellent rehab by Tracy's team really paid off. It was hard work for my Dad but they cheered him on and because of that he was able to come home. I have worked in many nursing homes in the area and know a good one when I see it. It's clean and cheery. And the staff is happy. I would highly recommend Lydia Taft to everyone I know!!

My Mom has been at Lydia Taft for just over a month now in the rehabilitation section after a lengthy hospital stay. She suffers from Heart and Kidney failure and was extremely week when she arrived. There are so many wonderful things to say about this place so I will break them down as best as I can. Staff - Every single staff member that we have encountered including PT, OT, Nurses, CNA's, etc have been outstanding. They continually display compassion, patience & respect with my Mom day in and day out. Facility - Clean, comfortable, & lots of homey touches. Great areas to just go and sit when you want a change of scenery. Food - Quite good and lots of options! Medical Care - very proactive with all of her health challenges. We have been very please with the overall care that she has received!!!!

Giving this place one star is a gift to Lydia Taft House. The staff should be brought up on charges of abuse and neglect. The care is better at an animal shelter, they are so poorly staffed and overworked the staff takes their frustrations out on the poor elderly there. The standard response for everything that goes wrong with a resident is that "THEY REFUSED". These poor people need kindness and caring INSTEAD they get scolded, left to sit in their feces with bed sores and rashes. How the people that work there can live with themselves is beyond me. They need to be investigated by Medicaid, the Board of Health, the Ombudsman, the Attorney General. Putting a loved one into a nursing home is a very stressful situation and there are so many unknowns. If you read this and STILL put your loved on at Lydia Taft you will be sentencing them to abuse, pain, suffering and a tragic ending. Is that what you want?
