OK so #1 it's clean and it's pretty and far out of the way so let's clear that up lol What made it a 3 for me is the picnic table with the cover by the well is trashed and full of trash The water well with water should be covered or made so animals can get out...there was a stuck snake in there with no way out and I have no way to help it so felt pretty bad it would drown or starve to death down there which was like 15 to 20 feet down to the water surface. Next is not a ton of distance for trails there all short and only 2 of them so don't go for that lol The animal watcher areas are full of trash just like the picnic spot. Humans are messing up a nice area again and I hope they can change that here.

It only gets a 4-star because the highway signage is non-existent once you're on 1284. Please add a sign at the Pugh's Ferry Road junction! Our GPS led us down a dead-end road before we got on the correct one. Also, print out the trail map …

It's very beautiful. Not for little kids though. Very steep in some places. I would say 10years and up for this trail.

My wife and I love the smaller, out-of-the-way places to hike. There are big areas like Red River Gorge which are magnificent, but sometimes we're in the frame of mind (or body!) to walk peacefully and contemplatively amidst forested beauty without myriad people surrounding us. Highly recommended; 100% great for children.

Unfortunately as it is a nature preserve they are not.

Can you fish the waters

Yes, be prepared to walk with your tackle but the river has excellent shoreline to set up for fishing.
