Ever since we discovered North Carolina’s best kept secret, Santa’s Land in Cherokee back in the ‘90s, we’ve been chasing kitschy, nostalgic theme parks. The more bizarre and surreal the better … Dinosaur Land (White Post, VA, Professor Cline’s Haunted Monsters Museum (Natural Bridge, VA), and Storybook Land (Egg Harbor Township, NJ) just to name a few. It’s hard to say no to these wonderful time capsules. One that’s been on our list for years is the original Santa’s Land (no affiliation) in Putney, Vermont, which celebrates its 65th anniversary in 2022. After years of neglect and abandonment, I must admit we were a little apprehensive about the park taking on a more contemporary look. But thankfully that wasn’t the case. We found the park to be quite enchanting complete with gingerbread men, life size elves from the 1950’s and even an original carousel from Coney Island. Their larger-than-life slide will quickly remind you just how much fun can be had with a burlap sack. We had the pleasure of speaking with the new owner (of six and a half years). He recalled how he used to visit the park as a young child, and always told his parents that he wanted to one day own all of this. He not only made his dream come true, but he also saved the park from oblivion. The friendly staff seem to have a real passion for keeping this park alive and it shows! Thank you, THANK YOU, for a wonderful day. Santa’s Land USA is a perfect balance of old and new for all to enjoy!

Very nostalgic. Well maintained. Very quaint. Beautifully decorated. Brought us joy. Wish the train thru the park was running but it's out for repair.

Santa's Land was amazing!! My girls had a blast and can't wait to go back. The park was clean and staff was friendly. Rides were opened and no long lines. Food was cash only in the park but food was reasonably priced.

Cute place to spend an hour or two with little kids. A few basic rides, a slide, and a lot of moving holiday themed diaramas. I want this place to make it! There is a market and a lot of potential. Employees were nice, and it was clean and tidy. For little kids it could keep them busy for a couple of hours. My suggestion to make it work without a huge cash infusion? Check out the farm adventures which are popular where I live in Maryland, such as Gaver Farm or Summers Farm Adventure, and see the awesome activities and attractions they have made with basic farm and garden stuff, these places attract thousands of people per day, and Santa Land could easily emulate what they are doing with a Santa theme. Good luck!

SANTA’S ARRIVING Nov. 25, 2017 I sent a note to Santa, and he just replied: Yes, the good news is Santa’s Land USA will reopen after a number of years of being closed on Saturday November 25th. 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Same hours for Sunday November 26th. Santa’s Land will be open every Saturday and Sunday up until Christmas. Admission: Day Passes $12.95 (ages 2-64) $10.95 (ages 65 +) Santa is ready!
At this time of year, it probably depends on the weather as to exactly what all is available. We took my niece on Christmas Eve and at that time the carousel, Santa's house, the iceberg slide, the school house, the snack shop, the sweet shop, and the train were all open, though there were a couple of kiddie rides that weren't open and were snowed snd iced in thanks to the recent snow storm and the rains that froze over night to form an icy crust. They might have been opened had that not occured. There is a giant slide that appears to be more a late spring and summer type ride and there was a "mill" that had a sign that said closed til spring. It is a small park and the new owner is trying to return it to what it once was, apparently just having reopened it in November.
When its open there is a Santa
We spent 3 hrs there and were able to go on everything twice
Yes. Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10-4. After Labor Day weekend it will be just Saturdays and Sundays through Christmas
Yes there is. It is park type fare, set under a grove of majestic white pines with picnic tables. I had a cheeze burger that was excellent.
Go to Putney town hall and find out owner.
No it's not for sale and not listed any real estate service. I think any astute person who is capable or thinking of running such a place would not ask on Google, but would contact the management per their phone number or email on the parks website.
Best bet is the check the website day of or day before.
That I don't know, they do have a website
July if you call the number, the website is wrong. I drove there last weekend

I think I remember seeing it on thetrain ride, the building that is. As of Christmas Eve 2017 there were three places to get something to eat or snack on, The gift shop, the candy shop, and the snack shop. There was an igloo shaped building we rode by on the train ride that looked like it should be some kind of resturant that wasn't operating as anything. But then the gentlemen who owns Santa's Land now is trying to get it back on it's feet and restore it somewhat to what it once was so maybe this year or sometime in the future they'll reopen the pancake house.
Yes both
