I’m giving the place 3 stars for now rating only because I was impressed with the knowledge from their staff member Stephen Germain. I had a previous bad experience with the East Hartford location where the tech kid-diagnosed my car completely wrong before. Told me I needed a whole new transmission$$$. Thankfully I had my doubts on certain things being that I know a few things myself. Stephen came out, took a look and told me i had to much change stuck inside my interlocker which didn’t allow it to lock into place. 🤯that simple. I’ll be hopefully doing the repairs here after the quote and will update my stars afterwards. Glad to had found someone able to actually diagnose and make sense. Got a call back for work on my 06 not 22 06 vehicle for a work repair order of only doing a Valve cover gasket seal and spark plugs replacements and also a radiator replacement…2k 🤯I swear to god it’s like these garages pride themselves on getting you at every chance. That job does not even take that long or should cost that much. The parts are not even close to the amount they are charging you to do the job. For everyone reading this, YouTube my friends or find someone who’s not gonna try to rob you. I hope they close these kinds of shops down and we get lucky with one good one somewhere.

These guys are the BEST!!!!! Special special special shout-out to TERELL for being an amazing individual. Their generosity, professionalism, goodwill and compassion is literally parallel to none. When my car wouldn’t move from my garage, they towed it, took care of it, and held on to it until the day of my appointment. Fast forward to that day, and the stealership that should have fixed it canceled, Terell and his team where there for me with all my frustration, and provided me with additional resources. These guys are TOP NOTCH. They put people first. I would literally trust them with my life, and hand them the keys to my house without thinking twice. They are exceptional folks and this will not be my last time there. Thank you guys for everything. I can’t repay you for your generosity. A million thanks is not enough! But I’ll say it again, thank you!!!

You might encounter several transmission slipping symptoms. When the automatic transmission is slipping, you might deal with one or more of these issues. Sudden Loss Of Power Or Traction: When the transmission is slipping gears, it feels like the car has lost power. You will notice it most when accelerating or downshifting. May Not Move: The vehicle might stop moving, even when the car is in Drive or Reverse. RPMS Surge: The engine flares and creates an RPM surge because it can’t get into gear. Sudden Banging: The transmission slipping sound often exhibits itself as a bang when going into gear. Check Engine Light: You might see this warning with a transmission problem. Burning Smells Combined With Noises: These are both good indicators that something isn’t right. Poor Fuel Economy: While many problems can cause a reduction in fuel economy, this is another by-product of a slipping transmission.
You might know how a traditional transmission works, but what is a CVT transmission? CVT stands for Continuously Variable Transmission. Now that you know what it stands for, what is a continuously variable transmission and how does it operate? The CVT is an automatic transmission that does not have fixed gears or fixed shifts, as the conventional automatic transmission does. For example, a four-speed automatic will shift into first, second, third and fourth gear. With the CVT transmission, there aren’t any fixed ratios. Instead, two pulleys and a push belt operate the CVT. The pulleys continually change diameters (or ratios) with the push belt riding between two pulleys. This provides a seamless ratio change so you don’t feel the shifting. The vehicle increases and decreases speed smoothly. In addition, CVTs offer better fuel economy over the traditional transmission.
Remanufactured transmissions are made from several components from other transmissions. These other transmissions were disassembled entirely in a factory-type environment so all of the parts could be cleaned and inspected. If possible, the parts were machined back to allowable and usable parts. These parts are then harvested and cataloged for the specific type of transmission they are compatible with. They are placed in an assembly line environment and used to re-assemble complete transmissions. Remanufactured parts are combined with new seals, gaskets, friction and other wearable components.
When you are looking for signs your transmission went out, there are a few tell-tale clues. You can listen for a blown transmission sound, or watch for these obvious signs. 1. Slipping 2. Delaying 3. Transmission Noise 4. Shuddering 5. Torque Converter Chatter 6. Leaking Fluid (Blown Transmission Line Symptoms) If your vehicle is experiencing any of these blow transmission symptoms, don’t wait. Schedule an appointment with your local AAMCO and get your transmission serviced before it turns into a more significant issue.
