Spent my birthday here last year. Lovely spot. You can see the city! It was hazy that day so we could barely see the city but it was fun seeing the lights and bridges in the distance. Lots of boats going by. Sand is a little rough but there was a ton of parking, so those cancel out a bit. Expensive as heck but I'm not from round here so maybe that's normal.

Horrible experience! we were denied entry for not making a booking (website only available at 9 am monday through friday, days you are obviously NOT going to the beach) and were forced to leave, despite having walked 4 miles in the sun to get there, totally ruined our day. Pretentious locals keeping people out made all the more obvious by the fact that none of those geniouses had the idea to keep a box by the entrance to let people pay the $9 fee. AND to top it all off, the "person" applying this policy was PROUD of himself for turning people away and ruining their days. Despicable.

Its a long , long walk on a hot day. Taxi would have to drop you off and pick you up at entrance since a parking permit is also required to enter park. No passes are sold at park ! See comment above.

It seems like the only way to visit this park, as a non resident, is to buy a park pass, on a week day, during work hours. That's really hard! Is that true?

Charles Frederick | Dec 17, 2018
David Cooper | Dec 18, 2018

Parking pass in addition to entrance pass during season which started May 1st. Limited pass sales timing is correct.
