During my son’s illness with cancer he was treated at MassGeneral and we stayed at the Beacon House several times. My son was only 29 and most people there were older folks, and my three daughters and myself were there with him for around six weeks on our final stay before he passed on as we lived two hours away and his medical team wanted him close by. The woman who had her office on site there, I believe her name was Sandra, was exceptionally compassionate and did everything within her power to help us feel at home. It truly was a gift for us to have the space - two rooms with four beds as well as one room in the annex for my older daughter - during those last weeks with my son. It is a beautiful building with a very comfortable feel to it. My family is extremely grateful to the Beacon House snd MGH

My family loved the Beacon House ❤️, it was very close walking distance to Mass General Hospital. We stayed there about a month until my mother died at Mass General Hospital. They were very caring and respectful and because my mom was in ICU they gave the room to us for half price which was so wonderful considering what we were already going through. We had the only room with the bathroom and shower in it which gave us much needed privacy. Sometimes you just have to cry in private😢. It also had two single beds in it and a cot in the closet with extra blankets. It had a community full kitchen in it as well as a stove and oven and refrigerator so we could get up together in the morning and regroup together at the community kitchen table having complimentary coffee and breakfast before the short walk to the hospital to see my mother. I cannot say enough good things about Beacon House to give it the justice it so deserves. Thank you😍 so much for your help and support during the sad time in our lives. 🙏💔🙏

To be in the center of the city it has a good price and very central, I could visit my destinations on foot.

The Beacon House is an economical place to stay when one needs to be close to MGH, not to mention it is in a lovely old section of one of Boston's most famous neighborhoods. Though most of the apartments are residential, the first 2 floors are available for guests with hospital connected needs. Each suite is decorated nicely and has a bathroom big enough for wheelchair needs, a kitchenette with dishes and silverware in case you'd like to "eat in" (a WHOLE FOODS Store is close by with a fabulous hot or cold buffet/ take out selection...you can also eat there if you choose...they open at 7:00 AM, so this is a great place for a hot breakfast before heading off to MGH), 2 chairs and a table, beds as requested, TV, land line phone service, extra bedding and pillows, and 24 hour security in the lobby (...which is beautifully finished and in keeping with that turn of the century Boston style!). There are a number of good restaurants in the area, in all different price ranges. (Also, MGH has a wonderfully full and diverse cafeteria...it is a real pleasure to eat there!). Call to make sure there is enough room for you to stay, as it can fill up fast! When dealing with hospital visits, it's nice to know there is a safe place to stay near by. Also, a single friend who stayed there said the police were more than willing to take her from MGH at night to the front door of the Beacon House, and they watched to make sure she got inside safely. I truly recommend the Beacon House , and hope this review has been helpful for you.

No parking. They will tell you to “Park at the hospital” but you cannot leave your car at the hospitals lots overnight. I’m not sure that I understand that, so I had to cancel.
Also has laundry in common area.
The Hill Tavern hands down is a great place for meals. Definitely suggest the brunch on Saturdays. The restaurant in the lobby of the Wyndham Inn is over priced. There is an Italian restaurant nearby that is also really good.
Prices vary, cheaper if you come with an order and appointment for one of the hospitals
