I have called to make a couple of complaints after experiencing dangerous situations on the highway. They were helpful in that they agreed that the design to the specific areas I have pointed out are indeed dangerous. I was told "yes we drive there daily and it is dangerous that you cannot see oncoming cars until you are in the middle of the road" but I am very disappointed that the requirement to do something about this is "wait until there are more accidents". In the mean time I would like to point out some of the "blind exits" or lanes that end abruptly in areas where speed limits are not enforced. As long as I have to put my life in danger as I drive these roads I will keep complaining.

I recently bought property on 414,i have a drainage creek beside my house that is flooding my basement.the creek needs to be dredged out.it runs across the highway to post creek along my property,is this my responsibility or the state?

It will depend on who owns the land it lies on and other factors such as environmental impacts and impacts upon neighboring properties to determine if it would even be allowed. Contact your town office and possibly DOT and DEC to find out what if anything can be done. You may have to set up water diversion near your foundation by burying a PVC pipe made for catching and diverting water and add gravel to coax the free flow of water from the ground into your piping. Glass cullet works well for this and might be a cheaper alternative to the gravel.
