Not the Lake Grove, NY location. My wife and I stopped at a Jared in Connecticut without an appointment and they were so helpful and eager to help. Cleaned our ring, necklace and changed a watch battery. We didn't have an appointment but they weren't busy and so they were extremely accommodating. Lake Grove however was completely empty, not a customer in sight, and they told they couldn't assist without an appointment nor could they change a simple watch battery (different watch). It seems in NY, they are only open if you are looking to spend a lot of money, otherwise it is much more convenient to be paid to stand around and do nothing!
