Since it was a Tuesday night we had to have Tacos. We are so glad we found Montes Cafe online. It is a small family owned restaurant that has a wonderful Mexican atmosphere. The owner greeted us and even took our order. I had the beef tacos with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream and a green hot sauce, it was exactly what I was looking for on a Taco Tuesday NIght for dinner. The shells are homemade and delicious and just the right amount of food. Reasonably priced for. a shore town resturant. And as all restaurants are doing nowadays, if you pay cash you pay less. Highly recommend it if you are looking for some good Mexican food while down in the Seaside Heights area.

Went here on our vacation and the service and food was great, my only concern with this Café, and i was only told when i questioned my bill on what was the 4 percent service charge was? i was told after i paid the bill, was to cover me using a credit card to pay, this charge is part of doing business and your credit card processing is 4 percent, that's extremely high, and is it against the credit card processing agreement? sounds like you are ripping off your credit card paying customers to me.

Promising menu and reviews but unfortunately there was a really bad rush so service was very slow. Food was decent but a little cold, not that great considering the wait. I'd like to give this place another try since many of the restaurant's slip ups were due to huge tables that came before us. I did really appreciate how we could customize our tacos and their patience with overly exacting orders.

We wanted to support local business and ordered take out on Cindo de Mayo. When they took my name they said to pick it up in 35-40 minutes. When we went to pick it up, they could not find our order, then they said they gave it to someone else by mistake. I understand mistakes can happen and we politely asked if they can make our order but a bit faster now, since we had already been waiting. They said we'd have to wait another 40-45 minutes. Not even an apology came from them and it seemed like the people working the counter were not sure what they were doing. Very disappointing and a very poor customer service experience.

We took ours to go but there were a few people eating inside, socially distanced and staff were under CDC guidelines.. I would visit again.. food was excellent!!
