False Accusations of Elder Abuse About 6 months ago the Dr me and my mother originally had while being cared for at Ellis Family Health Center graduated, and we were then given a PCP known as Dr Thomas. On our first trip to see Dr Lanice Thomas together, I was brought into the room where my mother was being seen, and my mother who suffers from dementia was telling the Dr things that weren't making any sense. I tried to tell my mother to calm down, but to do so I raised my voice a little--a little bit out of frustration, but mainly because my mother is hard of hearing. My mother began crying because she feels she is being a burden on me, and also due to withdrawals from the psych medicine she was on while in the rehab center. Dr Thomas, however, took on an, "you're abusive to your mother stance," when I am not. Today I sent my mother to the hospital because she was refusing to eat, and it had been almost 30 hours since she last ate. This Dr with an already biased opinion towards me noticed a bruise on my mother's eye. She inquired about it during a phone conversation we had, and I told her the injury was sustained accidentally while charging my mother. While no claim has been made against me as far as I'm aware at this time, this Doctors accusing statements worry me, especially since she wants to put my mother in a home and I don't. This difference in opinion worries me because her bias isn't taking into consideration that I care about my mother, and is seemingly making her advocate that I'm abusive to my mother just to remove her from her home. I hope that your office can give me some direction as to what I can do to both refute these accusations, stop this doctor from advocating these false allegations, and also keep my mother home with me without me facing persecution when I've done nothing wrong and am doing my best to care for my mother with very little help. It just perplexes me how this doctor can go so forcefully forward to make it seem as though I'm abusive to my mother, but does not go as forcefully forward to get my mother the help she needs to remain home. These are elders, not prisoners. So is so much emphasis placed on institutionalizing them, but no effort emphasis placed on allowing them to remain in their own communities.

Can't get a hold of anyone helpful over the phone. Forever on hold until the call just hangs up. Or someone does pick up just to "transfer" you but ends up repeating the on hold cycle or the call just ends or takes you back to the automated menu. Never successfully made an appointment by calling.

Terrible. If you want to leave over a dozen messages trying to schedule appointments, get prescriptions filled or even talk to a human and NEVER HEAR BACK ONCE then this is your place. On top of that i waited on hold numerous different times and was eventually just cut off before i had the chance to leave another pointless message. Do yourself a favor and try something more effective that Ellis Primary Care Plus...leeches, praying to your god of choice, toughing it out, looking for answers on the internet, explaining what is on the other side of a black hole or why the Kardashian family is famous...all have a better shot at making you feel better then ELLIS PRIMARY CARE PLUS.
