My son injured himself this evening and I took him to Med Express. I have been treated there along with my family members several times and we have always had great experiences. Tonight, was a different story. We arrived at 7:15 and the receptionist told me that they would not see my son because they stop seeing patients at 7 even though the posted hours inside and outside the building state 8-8. The did not have any signs stating that they stop seeing patients at 7. I told her what my son's injury was and she went to get a nurse and the PA on duty. The PA and a nurse came to the desk and proceeded to tell me that they were not going to treat my son and that I needed to go to the ER. They told me that the ER was better equipped to clean my son's cut. The worst part is there was no one in the waiting room and there were no cars in the parking lot. They were callous and had no concern for my son's health or well-being. I would not recommend this urgent care facility and I will never go there again!

Terrible wait time, they tell you it will take an hour to be seen, 3 hours later I’m still here. Find another place where they have enough staff

The wait was the worst part of this experience. When told 1 1/2 hours just round your day to 2-3 hours to be on the safe side. Paid the visit of $149 upfront at around 5:25 pm and was not out the doors until 8:03 pm. (A sigh of relief was needing prescriptions and thankfully the Publix behind the Urgent Care was open until 9pm and they were able to have that ready in about 5-10min. ) I wouldn’t say it was overwhelmingly busy in the Urgent Care - it just must have been prioritized by urgency of the patients, hence the long wait. Though the reason for coming wasn’t excruciating, I’d say the staff had it worse as they seem short handed and seem to stay after closing hours which is awful when you already had a long eventful day. The most odd part of the experience was having a fever and getting placed in the hottest exam room which entailed much more sweat. Had to wait on the car for a message/call in order to come inside the building. Notified the receptionist that the service wasn’t the best in the parking lot and she stated they can come outside if the phone isn’t answered. Upon paying upfront the make/model was asked for. Thankfully the call went though, and all those annoying allergy, family history questions were answered over the phone instead of filling out all the paper work. Revisit for follow up is included in price. $50 for Covid test of a quick nose swab. 15 min wait on results. Overall the staff was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable, this includes the Front Desk staff, Triage Nurse and the PA.

Yes, the MedExpress are open 8-8 every day. As a valued patient, we want to do all we can to help you understand our current processes so that you know what to expect when you visit MedExpress this winter season. Please know that we consider it a privilege to serve you and that your health remains our top priority. Due to the demand for COVID-19 evaluations and testing, many centers are experiencing average wait times of 1-4 hours and a high amount of phone calls. At some locations, we may exceed our daily visit capacity, resulting in the need to discontinue registration of patients earlier than normal. Should this occur, please be assured that your care is important to us, and we will do our best to see everyone currently in line. We appreciate your patience and understanding as our teams work tirelessly in service to our communities. What types of COVID-19 testing does MedExpress offer?

MedExpress Urgent Care | Sep 11, 2021
MedExpress Urgent Care | Sep 11, 2021

MedExpress is offering COVID-19 evaluations and testing at designated centers to help support our local communities' health care needs amid the pandemic. In order to ensure individuals receive the highest-quality care and treatment, all individuals seeking care at MedExpress for known or suspected COVID-19 cases will receive an examination by a MedExpress health care professional who will determine if testing is needed and which testing method may be most appropriate, including rapid antigen and laboratory send-out PCR COVID-19 testing. Please note that for the most accurate COVID-19 test results, the CDC and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) recommend that individuals who are not showing symptoms, but who have had close contact with an individual who has tested positively for COVID-19, wait five to seven days after the known exposure to get a COVID-19 test. Additionally, the CDC and AAFP recommend self-quarantining for 14 days after a known exposure to COVID-19, even if no symptoms are present.

I'd like to get tested for Covid. I don't know if I've been exposed but I've had what I thought were cold symptoms, runny nose, slight headache, scratchy throat. Can I be tested at MedExpress? Is this covered by Medicare?

Kathleen Webber | Sep 11, 2021
MedExpress Urgent Care | Sep 11, 2021

Thank you for your questions! MedExpress is currently offering COVID-19 testing for a known or suspected exposure. The type of test administered is determined by our providers after a medical evaluation and is based upon CDC recommendations and considerations, the type and duration of symptoms, and other criteria which can be found at https://www.medexpress.com/covid19.html. Many health insurance companies across the country have stated that they will cover the cost of testing for COVID-19. However, it is a good idea to check with your insurance company to learn if it covers the test and what portion of treatment may be covered based on the specifics of your individual health plan.

Med express at 13005 Collier blvd Naples How long does it take to get results for covid test. Is it possible to get same day results?

Gary Wegner | Sep 11, 2021
MedExpress Urgent Care | Sep 11, 2021

Good question. Timing may vary depending on the volume of tests being performed by our commercial lab partner, but, at this time, it currently takes around 3-7 days for patients to receive send-out laboratory results. If you were tested at a designated MedExpress testing center and are awaiting your results, a member of our team will call you once we receive the results.
