Wonderful little coffee shop in a quaint Illinois town with super friendly staff. Traveling from NY to LA and detoured off i70 for this spot. Coffee in the spirit of Starbucks with less pretentiousness. Get the banana bread

I was in Highland for just over a week in January for a very sad reason, but Michael's Coffee Shop was the perfect place to pop into first thing and get the day started right. Fast, friendly service, great drinks, and it's such a gorgeous coffee shop! Someday I'll visit again and be able to sit inside and write in my journal like a normal person. Thank you!!!
