UNNECESSARY PRESCRIPTIONS!!! I brought my dog in specifically for a Dietary Consultation about her hip dysplasia. We were seen by Dr. Livinia who without even looking at my dogs X-rays declared that my dog was in “a lot of pain, even when I barely touch your dog with my finger” and proceeded to prescribe 2 different pain medications costing several hundred $$ along with Chinese herbs (which I declined) and acupuncture. I informed her that my dog’s regular Vet, just a month earlier, had said pain meds were unnecessary at this time. She said “they are wrong , your dog is in a lot of pain”. I paid over $400 for the pain meds at SAMC. At home my dog came up to me to be petted, and I obliged with her favorite, a back scratch. While scratching her back she moved forward as she Always does so that the scratching centers on her Hips. I then remembered that I had given her the Exact Same scratching just before the appointment with Dr. Livinia!! Why would she move so that the pressure from scratching is on her hips where “barely touching her with a finger” cause her so much pain? I think that my dog was just shying away from the Dr’s touch because she has a rather pushy and abrasive personality. I’ll never bring my dog back to Dr. Livonia again, she is just trying to make money as opposed to taking care of animals🤬

This vet office is the greatest, not only are they extremely caring and compassionate, they are thorough! One of my dog has epilepsy, and I have been to over 8+ vets over his lifetime and not once have I ever been told it was his thyroid; Dr. Luther found that his levels were off and we have him on the proper medicine/herbs, and his seizures have been controlled much much better! Every doctor and staff member I have had there has been wonderful as well. They offer natural options, anesthesia-free dental cleanings, and acupuncture and herbal support too! I can not tell you how grateful I am to have found them. Amazing customer service and top-notch medical care. Highly recommend Sarasota Animal Medical Center, you won’t use anyone else after them.

We truly believe that we have found the best vet in South West Florida. Actually the entire staff bend over backwards to accommodate our needs. With three cats and four dogs, most getting older, we make regular trips here. The fact that we drive nearly two hours, passing a number of vet clinics should tell you something.
