All they care about is getting that adoption fee. They will adopt you a dog that will ruin your life and try to bite your children but say they are children friendly. But leave all that out at adoption and tell you how great they are. Should really be more honest about the dogs your adopting out. I’ve never even seen a shelter adopt dogs out to literally anyone so quickly usually takes days and home visit, back to only caring about the money. What’s new in this world though.

I adopted the cutest little black 9 week old kitten named Branch last week. I changed his name to Jet Blackson. It took a few days for him to come out of his shelter shell, but He is everything you could want. Sweet, cuddly, cute, sassy. There aren’t enough words to describe how great he is. Everyone should adopt a animal from the humane society. He had all of his shots and was nuetered and microchiped. He gets along great with my mothers shitzu. He is getting a lot of attention and love. There was so many more cats I wish I could adopt as well. Thank you to the human society for providing me with such a wonderful pet.

Just adopted a super sweet and very loving cat named Dot she's 4 years old and we gave her a forever home. They were very kind and low adoption fee were so glad we got this cat.

Super friendly staff. Call before going in. We wanted to see several specific animals. But their restrictions disqualified us. The one we got to see was not even one we planned to see. We understand wanting the best home. But to be denied to "see" an animal because it is hyper and we have a child under 14 uears old? That should have been our choice to make. We have a fenced in 1/2 acre for the right animal. We met a 7 year old animal and was told she just likes to lay around.

Not at this time, but keep checking the website under other animals.
We have 50% off adoption fees until September 19th. Check our website www.hsvb.org/adopt
Do you still need one? We have a female chi mixed with rat terrier. We are not associated with the humane society though.
No
Hi Lynn! Yes, please call 772.567.2044 to schedule a pickup. Thank you!
Yes
Don't know the email. But, if you google it, I'm certain it the page has a lot of informative content. Good place.
Hi Jan sorry to hear that. I had to put my dog to sleep here. She was a 17year old poodle. I don't work here. Please call them they will work with you. Very loving place. The staff is amazing
Sorry to hear! I hope she wasn't taken. Post on Nextdoor.com and Craigslist in Lost/Found sections. They usually work really fast. Call Halo & Humane Society on Monday morning if no luck.
The most important process is recognizing the commitment to a dog's care ( ie: walking the dog at least twice a day, healthy diet ( no human food ) and annual medical checkups ( affordability of pet meds and or surgery )...size of dog can be demanding if you choose a dog that requires a lot of exercise ..the Humane Society will have you fill out paperwork to ensure you find a dog that is a good match for you. I am happy you have decided to give a dog a second chance if a loving home. .enjoy ..
Yes, they provide a box for you to take your new friend home!
Call animal control and they will bring them to us
I honestly don't know the answer to that.
$ 80.00
Cat or dog little more information please
They have a clinic right next door to to the adoption center, just need any records you have.
To my knowledge the Vero Beach has nothing to do with licensing. That I believe to be a county function. I really don't know anything about flea dipping. I would give them a call.
Sorry, we do not board animals.
A Patron Pet is an animal who is "very likely" to be adopted quickly because they are "in demand". Smaller dogs and specific breeds of animals fall into this category. If you are interested in a specific dog, we suggest you talk with one of our adoption counselors who are skilled in knowing the dog well enough to know how well they will do in a particular home environment.
No, we have a adoption counselor meet with the adopters at the Shelter.

I am not positive maybe try an emergency vet. I am so sorry about your bunny.

Adoptions, usually are rescue dogs from places that people is abusing them, sometimes you can find puppies, and not sure the fee adopting a dog.
We do not put a timelimit on how long an animal can stay with us. We do not turn away any animal - we are an open admission shelter. We are the only animal shelter in Indian River County that promises to accept all animals, regardless of age, health, behavior, or adoptability. We also promise to provide a full range of services to keep animals "out of the Shelter" and in loving homes.
Yes-but I urge you not to surrender your pet, they take AWFUL care of animals, and they rarely get adopted. And your pet is your family.
How much is it to have a 9yr old rabbit euthinised?
