Xpress Lube and Tire Service

Ever since Quik Lube (just off of Tudor Road on Old Seward) became history, I have visited Northway Express Lube, due to the decent reviews, and exceptional customer service I received on my last visit. Located on Penland Pkwy, at the location of (sadly, what used to be) the Northway Mall. While my full service oil change was being done, on a whim I asked the counter kid about getting my battery tested. I knew I needed a new one, and come to find out, yep- it was about to croak. After being turned down at Batteries Plus, due to the bit of extra labor involved under the hood to replace the battery, I wasn't expecting much after asking if such a thing could be done at this place. Richard was running the show here, and it was just over an hour before closing time. I was so very pleasantly surprised to hear Richard say of course, we can take care of you. I said, "What? Now?" He said sure. Whoa! I asked if I could watch, if only to see what the deal is with the extra labor. It was a very tight squeeze getting the old battery out, but much easier to install the new battery. And, after paying only $227.97 total for the full service oil change, and installation of a new battery, I was on my happy way down the road, with 15 minutes to spare before closing time. Sweet!
