Went to fix my voter registration card and I had no idea what I was doing, I was so nervous. All the staff involved in helping us fix the cards were kind, informative, and excited to help us out. I really appreciated the nonjudgmental environment and patience the entire staff had for me through the process. Thanks so much!

If one receives a vote-by-mail ballot and decides to vote in person must they bring that ballot with them to turn in when they vote in person? Will one be denied the ability to vote if they do not bring it?

Lynn Theresa Fox | Sep 12, 2019
Beverly Wells | Sep 12, 2019

No, this year the office has a system that will prevent a second ballot from being counted. It is best to bring the mail in if you have it.

If mail in ballot has arrived, can I carry it to a precinct and deposit it there?

Rose O'Donoghue | Sep 11, 2020
Lake County Supervisor of Elections | Sep 11, 2020

You may deposit it at an Early Voting site during the Early Voting period 8/6/20-8/15/20 between the hours of 10 am and 6 pm. You may also use the drop box located in the elections office parking lot However, you will not be able to deposit it at your Election Day precinct. If you choose to vote in-person on Election Day, just take your mail ballot with you and we will cancel it and reissue you a new ballot to vote on Election Day. All mail ballots must be received in the elections office before 7pm on Election Day.

Yes. This year the office put in a new system that will not count both ballots. You can still vote early even if you have not yet received the mail in. It is best to bring it with you if you have it. If not destroy if it arrives later.
