Terrible office. Never get back to you. Treat you very badly. Don’t seem to care about patients or any health concerns. They treat you different ways depending on the insurance you have.

They drop the ball, A LOT…. This review is in NO way about Dr. Cohen, or Dr. Davis themselves, as they are actually fantastic doctors. I am also extremely impressed, and thankful for Genie(medical assistant) in the Port Charlotte office (who deals with Dr. Davis’s patients, as well), for listening to my issue, and trying to come up with a solution to not only that, but the complaint I had about the Sarasota office, and my recent visit. Unfortunately, I’ve had issues on more than one occasion with SOME of the office staff in Sarasota, including the office manager, Meg. Today I had enough of the poor communication issues I’d been having, along with not being given what I needed to get better, along with getting hit with a bill from them, before even getting an answer & treatment..(Literally NOTHING I went into this office for on AUG 12th was done. I was sent medication that I told the PA I could NOT take, I wasn’t given the extensive blood work I asked for, I was never called to explain anything, no details at all.) So I decided to give the Port Charlotte office a call to let them know, because Sarasota just doesn’t seem to care the same. This has been more than once, As I’ve said above. I explained EVERYTHING to the girl who answered. She was very apologetic for the poor communication, and on top of that, gave me a great opinion to ask the doctor about, that made sense about the medical issue. I’ve been seeing doctors since 16, and no one has mentioned this possibility to me, and the more I’ve read and researched on my own after speaking with her, the more I believe she’s nailed it spot on…. I got off the phone feeling HAPPY that I may be actually getting somewhere, and felt good with the apology I received about the communication. My next step was to wait for Dr. Davis to hear her thoughts, and see if she agreed. Hours later I received a call from the office manager at the Sarasota location, Meg. (I believe is her name)… Within minutes of speaking to her, I realized she wasn’t calling to apologize for the staffs poor communication (which was already done by the Port Charlotte office). In fact she was doing the opposite. She was calling to shame me for walking next door to my other specialist to ask if what I requested for labs was on the sheets I was leaving with.(because I didn’t feel confident they were) She was calling to make me feel bad about complaining about the poor communication within her staff, and assured me with inaccuracies that I wasn’t correct. She was calling to tell me that they can’t meet my expectations, and that I should only see Dr. Davis for my “bladder” needs from now on (when she is a gynecological urologist, and I should be able to talk to her about what I want/need in that department if she is my doctor), and lastly not once did she apologize for all of the poor communication & the fact that I STILL don’t have the correct antibiotics a WEEK later. It is also Extremely clear that she has an issue with the office next door. It should probably be made less visible to your patients.. Ive gotten second opinions, worked with two different specialist of the same specialty in the past for different reasons, as I do with this office(who did my bladder surgery), and my OB (who delivered all three of my children) and haven’t EVER had someone question me or make me feel even the slightest bit bad for getting another opinion on anything, and then follow It up with “I should only ask bladder related questions” to Dr. Davis, and “ask my GYN for my other needs such as pap, Hormones, etc” Dr. Davis does amazing for both. Isn’t it my choice? She is a gynecological Urologist.. (Nothing I asked for that visit was out of that scope) Had Meg realized that port charlotte already spoke to me, and apologized, and all was right in the world, we wouldn’t be here, but I did NOT appreciate that second phone call. It wasn’t productive at all. This is also an example of poor communication. I hope this office gets it together, because Cohen & Davis are amazing, and deserve the best behind them!
