If you get a 60-day notice to terminate tenancy, or any notice to move, DO NOT MOVE OUT --- STAND YOUR GROUND I cannot afford an attorney, yet I CAN warn you all. If they give you a 60 day notice, they MUST provide just cause as spelled out in civil code 1946.2. They told me repeatedly that they had the right to make me move for no reason, citing Civil Code 1946.1. But 1946.2 shows more, they cannot make you move just to exercise their right to take back the property, they MUST provide just cause, as spelled out in Civil Code 1946.2 IF you don't live here now, don't move in... just don't. ATTN ALL --- GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING FROM SMOKETREE. DO NOT RENT #29 SIGHT UNSEEN, Look at this unit very carefully, they love putting lipstick on a pig so make sure they aren't just painting over and patching but replacing. REPAIRS NEEDED TO THIS UNIT: Make sure the water damage in laundry room (pull out the w/d and look), under kitchen sink (cabinets needs replaced), carpeting in bedroom, vinyl in kitchen and living room torn and lifting from water leak, crack in patio slab bad and getting worse, kitchen screen doesn't fit window, too small, bedroom window doesn't have lock, patio doors installed wrong and rattle like you won't believe, wind comes in, refrigerator dented and cracked. Someone in this building #3 is now smoking pot and every night the unit wreaks of the smell.....DO NOT RENT #29 WITHOUT WALKING IT AM and PM.

Very bad place, illegal practices, crime, horrid staff, no maintenance or repairs, It's sad because this place in the eighties and nineties was fabulous now they're approaching slumlord

If I could give this place zero stars I would I applied for an apartment and I was told by jazmin I would receive my money from 5-10 business days the way I paid I would receive it now it took 25 plus days to get my money and they mailing a check long story short rude unprofessional employees I agree with the rest of the reviews don’t apply here they are scammers now they want to play with my money

Lived here for about 4 years, previous management kinda sucked. Got told that our air conditioner leaking was going to happen so deal with it. The buildings old can't fix it. HOWEVER, the new management is very good, accommodating, logical and in my opinion make good decisions. Under this set of management, lots of well needed improvements have taken place. The prices are a bit steep. But who's aren't right now? The new management have made it a reasonable place to live. The actual apartments (the old side at least) are kind of outdated, but otherwise are decent (except the air conditioning - which is a big thing in the desert...; leaks horrendously (5 gallon bucket in 12 hours or so) EVERY year. Maintenance guy comes out and has to spend some time pumping out the pipes or something - we had to throw away so many clothes etc in our closet because of it, and even had to resort to buying a carpet cleaner to suck up the excess water.) Any issues we have get resolved pretty quickly though. PS parking is a joke. But they're trying to remedy. Thank you. Hope this helps.
