I love coming here and have been for years. It's the best sushi in town. Great customer service and family friendly. We tried the clams and they were so good! All the rolls have so much flavor and are rolled well. The nigiri and sashimi are fresh. It is very clean inside with a nice atmosphere. They get pretty busy, especially weekends

I have been going to Kazan since their original location in Dixon, 15 or so years ago. Lee, the owner, is amazing. She comes out and greets customers, she serves food, and she is the sweetest. But the food - it's the best. I have my favorites: the volcano, steak wrapped asparagus, and the seaweed salad. But no matter what I get, it's so good, every time. The volcano is cooked salmon wrapped around a mix of crab and other stuff, served on a bed of spring mixed greens with a drizzle of something savory and delicious. It's soooo good. It comes like a little volcano. It's slightly spicy, slightly sweet, savory and more than a mouthful and totally satisfying. It's unique and something you won't find anywhere else. The steak wrapped asparagus is thin grilled steak, wrapped around 2 or 3 asparagus spears and sliced into bite size pieces. It is served on a bed of mixed spring greens. There is some kind of mouth watering sauce mixed in. It is tender, not mushy, not stringy, sooo delicious. I crave it constantly. The seaweed salad is not what you think. Usually, you order a seaweed salad and you get a dollop of stringy seaweed, which is fine if you like it! But, this is not that. Yes, there is some of that, but there is also mixed spring greens, different vegetables like cucumber and avocado and even some sashimi on top. If you order it without the sashimi, it's a perfect vegetarian option, and super delicious. There are lots of sushi places to choose from these days. And there are some pretty good ones. But, there is NO place like Kazan.

Sushi is kind of white washed. There are however so many options to choose from. We were told we'd get a california roll with the bento box dinner but because we chose w phili roll it substituted it. Normally wouldnt mins but my mom is a vegetarian so that was a bummer. Over all decent food!
