I've never had to but if it's going to be on a day that's celebrated by alot of people it wouldn't hurt
No lake... There is a nice-sized play structure a volleyball court sorry beach volleyball court a long trail that is about half a mile so if you walk around the park twice you've walked a mile the play structure has stayed over it there is a barbecue area and a few tables that are sporadically placed and the new play structure is like a spider web more for bigger kids and there are swings nice little place to have a birthday party as I did last year for my daughter
