I think the staff at that facility are very nice and caring they work very hard to treat patients crisis last time I stayed there before moving to rhode island I generally had good experiences there and got all the right medications I needed but honestly speaking I have seen people who have gotten there way before I arrived and were still there when I left and some of them were very dillusional and were refusing to take meds and were having psychotic episodes while I was there and were still having episodes when I got discharged but honestly speaking im so glad the facility force people like that to stay cause if they didn't make them stay they could easily die and so props up to this facility for the hard work they do.

This place is a life saver. They really helped me in my time of need. They also got me set up with help for the long term. I forever greatful to them.

By far the worst facility i have ever been to. Of the say 30 staff memebers i interacted with throughout my time there only like 4 of them gendered me correctly before i told them/had to correct them. Even one of the psychiatrists first addressed me as ma'am but when i spoke they corrected themselves to say sorry? But you were correct the first time! My wristband even said female because my ID says it because i have gone through the process to legally be recognized as female! As a trans person who i myself went there to seek emergency psychiatric care i have left feeling far worse than before!

I am now at home safe, but looking back I am disgusted with how bad this place was.

Questions & Answers

Why is there no push to get this department funded? There are new buildings being built costing millions, patients in EPS are resigned to horrible conditions such as sleeping in recliners, and lack of psychiatric doctors that have been for decades.

Because public health is NOT a priority in this country.

Can you deny services to a mentally ill patient?
