We thoroughly enjoyed our cruise with the exception of an extended family on the boat who apparently only boarded to eat and talk with each other, which made it extremely difficult to hear the naration of the history of the canal. The children were very disruptive, too.

Was a fun and informative ride. Never been through a lock. It was an hour and a half ride, just a relaxing little tour.

The cruise is very good. Our cruise departed on time and went down the Mohawk River. The local scenery is very nice. Both the captain and the audio narrator did a good job explaining the history and present day use of the Erie Canal. On the cruise you will go through the lock twice. The first time it takes you down. After you go down you will turn around in the Mohawk River and go back to the canal. This time you will go up. On the cruise you will likely the Fort Herkimer Church, which is the second oldest church in NY State. You will also see few waterbirds here and there. The route of the cruise follows the Erie Canalway bike trail nearby. The cruise is comfortable and you can purchase food, soda, or alcohol if you need. If you are in the area you should definitely do the cruise.

We loved this cruise. The price was reasonable, the crew was great, and the views were spectacular. We especially enjoyed going through the lock.

From Herkimer (near Thruway exit 30) east beyond historic Fort Herkimer and Jacksonburg, through a canal lock (18?) with a lively narration from your Captain, this boat ride returns you to your canalside starting point in just a couple of hours. It's a fun, educational and refreshing day trip
Yes. We also did a group trip with just trachers and brough crackers and cheese, etc. The children will learn all about NY history and how the Erie Canal made it the Empire State. They will have great things to write about and Wonder memories. There is a group rate. I think you can go online for info and there is a phone number listed. My wife and I have done this trip four times and are taking it again with some of my family members who are going to visit us.
The canal accommodates sea-going freight barges, so I'm pretty sure you'll be okay. There may be some kind of toll for passing through locks, but I'm not sure
This is a private enterprise and not operated by NYS Canals. I was not offended a free ride or senior discount for this cruise.
Check their website for current pricing. The boat is accessable.
Yes, 3-4 star hotels. We stayed at a Red Roof that was very nice
I eould imagine they are done for the season but they have a website.
They have snacks and drinks on the boat to purchase and there's a restaurant attached to the gift shop.
They are not required but recommended. The cruises can fill up.
No you can purchase right there.
Herkimer KOA and Diamond Mines 6 miles away, Ilion Marina and RV Park 1 mile away with limited space
When you get off the Herkimer exit on i90 you go straight across into their parking lot. Sorry I just saw this, hope you found it and enjoyed it as much as we did.
