August 15, 2022: Only one scooter working and the other is missing. Curiously posted paper signs over two outlets warn not to use. How does anyone recharge the only scooter working. After I used scooter, I leave it near customer service. A man rode it on the elevator with me to 5he first floor where he left it. He had no cane, crutches, or walker. Another problem for the next user a scooter with a spent battery on the first floor? The male employees who retrieve the carts got a complaint for controlling the elevator with key while steering shoppers into elevator and crowding some to intimidate for tips. Some shoppers block access with employees when shopper uses the scooter for tips. I reported it 3 times to Kroger. The problem arises ever so often with new employees doing the cart retrievals. _____________ July 3 2022:. Get your Mariano's $5.00 OFF on any purchase of $50.00 or more. June 24, 2022, Friday "Curb," taxi service abandoned me at 8 pm on Friday night, after I WAITED 30 MINUTES. I happened to be sitting on a bench outside. Getting cold, when two Latina women, about 25 to 30 offered me a ride home. Actually another 30ish woman over-hearing my call to Curb in the rest room, offered me a ride, too. The two females would not take any money( a $7.00 fare with $2 tip). They helped get my 3 bags of groceries in the truck of their car. I was home in a flash. How nice of them. I think they worked for Mariano's since they stressed no money for their help and car ride when I told them I go to Jewel to have the bulk of my groceries delivered. When they asked which one I liked better. Without reservations, I said. "Mariano's". As of May 31, 2022: The go cart I used worked in spite of being unplugged. The other go cart was also unplugged, and I plugged it in. I had no problem with my self-service ring up. Thanks Kroger. "You are the fairest of them all." May 9, 2022:. Both go-carts apparently working in spite of noise while running and low energy reading on the defective cart. No more complaints on the local level cause head-quarters won't spend for new carts or batteries. Summer employees are coming 😠 May 2, 2022:. Last time I rode in the scooter was April 29, 2022:. Only one cart was running but all were blinking, showing they were fully charged. Beware! Happy Easter again: A year has passed since I wrote this and the bad scooter is now running albeit still slowly, see below. Update:. I myself noticed more scams at Jewel, selling special Clorox about $3.00 higher when they were out of it and special Marshmallows selling $4.00 more for folks who were allergic to the $1.00 variety. By the way, Clorox is "dead-meat" for investors. Last Spring it saw a surge, but its stock price is down 30% (verify) today No wonder Jewel was pushing off inventory for a small demographics. There is always a reason when you are getting hosed. I have in comparison at the same time saved $5.00 on a purchase over $50, using an in-house magazine coupon and enjoyed Starbucks frappe for about $1.50 or more less. I feel Mariano's pain more! ****** Yes I still have to go to the Jewel-Osco store. But this store, Mariano's on Lawrence and Ravenswood is by far my favorite. However, the shopping scooters need an up-grade, since the one I used on 3/13/2021 was defective. As of 04/01/2022 the scooter I usually do not use because it does before I get to customer service desk worked well today but no get-up-and-go.
