Amazing, friendly, knowledgeable staff. My husband and I made a railroad spike and a horseshoe knife. Which we also had customized with writing and images. A big Thank You to Will we had a great time.

We had a great time making knives with the blacksmiths. They were friendly and worked well with the boys (ages 7 to 11). Get reservations weeks in advance -- they don't typically have walk-in appointments available. Highly recommemd the experience.

Very interesting to watch and the store has nice stuff too. However, my personal experience wasn't too great. I'm an amateur knife maker and was curious to see what kind of value an experienced knife maker would put on a piece of my work. I asked the young man behind the desk who in turn took my knife over to the 17yr veteran maker and told him my question. The guy barely takes time to look at it and then says, "I've made ones similar to this." and "Everybody has their own value." I openly stated that I had only been making knives for a year and also gave the details about the knife. The other ladies behind the counter looked genuinely impressed with my work but the guy just walked off! The young man tried to make up for it and give me an estimate but he openly admitted he wasn't sure. It was very disappointing that a seasoned artisan couldn't even offer a word of encouragement to an amateur maker. I'm naturally very introverted and putting myself and my work out there was a big deal. After looking at his work for sale all I can say is he seems to be able to make nicer and more consistent blades than I currently can, but my handle design(s) are leaps and bounds beyond his. Maybe he felt threatened or thought I was trying to take business away from him. Still, it shouldn't be that way. I pray I never reach such a point that I turn my nose up at other makers, whether they are below or above my own skill level.

Had a blast with my son and enjoyed the time spent learning something new...it was the highlight of his vacation as well.

You can make a railroad spike knife, a horse shoe knife, and a pony shoe knife.
It's best to call the show room to book an appointment.
They have 3 sizes of knives. Price includes instruction/you making the knife. Largest has a twisted railroad spike for handle $80, med size is a half horseshoe handle $50, small for kids is $30. My brother loved doing it. They are very busy so make your appt ahead.
I just made one I would recommend it
It varies depending on what type of knife you're interested in making. They have dream experience that involves a lot and its pricey but the rest is under 100 per knife. You get the experience of pounding the steel and a first hand look at everything else. It covers the material and a sheath. If you're lucky enough to be there while Robby is, he will willingly take pictures with you.
I think there open year round
I would just call 1st...sword takes a bit of time. .... Try to book with Robbie. ... He's the best.... You will love these guys... Enjoy!
Call and talk to Robby...
