They make you have gardners pay for plants and give them discount but suppose to be wholesale nursery but charge more to consumers. Prices on Eugenias are $75. Sad reply excuse from owner. I purchased 40 Eugenia shrubs that are $75 each ($125 if they are special ordered) for 15 gallon tree/shrubs. I chose the 12 at the nursery that were 6' tall and told them I needed a total of 40 same size and type and they said they'd have them ordered and ready for my gardener to pick up. When the gardener brought them to my home only half of them were 6' the other 3-1/2' to 4'. Gardner told me they would grow quick. After 5 days we called the nursery because about 5 of them didn't look so good and was concerned if they would continue to grow. We were told there is a 24 hour return policy and they wouldn't even give us any type of credit for other plants we would be buying, including a couple trees. I spent almost $3,000 here, I'm very disappointed at the customer service and lack of integrity for what this nursery sells. They claim to be a specialty nursery, but no returns after 24 hours? Needless to say I went elsewhere (Saticoy Nursery in the San Fernando Valley) where they had the same shrubs, taller and thicker for only $45 each 15 gallon bucket. Pictures are current (November 2021) after I have been nursing the bad shrubs and you can see comparison of ones I had picked out. Not very nice sending me inferior from what I picked out and then not willing to return or credit. My daughter is 5'2" and these were planted back in April and photos are current. Far from 6' tall! The last 2 photos are the ones I picked out. You can see difference in height and fullness.

While shopping here everyone was very helpful and good selection of plants compared to local Home Depot and Lowes. Although prices are not less expensive than the big box, I figure supporting a local business and employees are knowledgeable was worth it and I assumed their quality would be superior. I purchased over $2,500 in multiple types of plants. I bought some multiples of same plant and out of 20 shrubs within a week and a half 3 were clearly not thriving. I was planning on buying more plants and went back to the nursery hoping for an exchange of the poor shrubs that were $75 each. The man who was the nursery manager told me they only guarantee for 24 hours, what plant dies that quick. The worst part was the manager was very defensive, I guess he forgot I just dropped $2,500+ here and was there to purchase quite a bit more and asked if I could east get credit and the firm answer was no. I'll be back at the big box, at least they back their products that fail. Replying to owner: His name was Angel and he said he was the manager. Paid cash to get tax free discount so probably why you don't have a record.

I live in Oak Park, and I like to support my community businesses. I bought 2 giant bird of paradise plants from this nursery about a week ago, I give them the same amount of water, one is doing great, the other one is not. So I went back with the unhealthy plant and ask if I can replace it with a healthier one. Got rejected by the reason “the plant doesn’t lie, you aren’t water the plant enough, also we don’t make changes after selling our plants.” Ok, maybe they are right, maybe the unhealthy plant needed more water. But what’s more important to you as a business owner? Loosing a customer within your community who is definitely not coming back nor recommending the business to his neighbors, or a plant which could probably be able to thrive again after some professional care by your employees? It is disappointing to see these people are just not getting the equation. It’s like the economy, a couple of bad years isn’t gonna do that much damage to the market, but if you let your people loose their faith, It is almost guarantee of suffering. I hope this review gets the attention of the owner, it is never too late to do better.
