Horrible customer service It takes 90 minutes to speak to anyone and in the end rude and not wanting to help It takes 3 to 5 business days to reconnect the water in a 100 degrees Florida! Despite them receiving the application..if someone dies from dehydration it's their fault.. Their application requires notary!!!! How come in FPL application doesn't?

For the third time, my water has been shut off. I have never had a late or past due account. When I talk to utilities department me they tell me either my account is past due or doesn’t exist (seriously) and to talk to billing. I talk to billing and am told my account is in good standing and they have no idea why it would be off, to talk to utility department. Yet they won’t talk to each other. I have an infant that I cannot provide a bottle to due to their INCOMPETENCE and they’ve given me no plans to resolve or make sure this doesn’t happen again. I have been without water for HOURS and my account is in good standing. I am appalled at this egregious level of service. Wrong and DANGEROUS!

You cut off our water with no notice despite our bill being paid in full. We called at 1:30pm when we discovered this and they said it would be turned on by 5pm. It was not. We called again a few minutes before 5. Now they said 7pm. Called again at 7:30pm and now they said 10pm, AND the man hung up on us despite us being completely polite and civil, just asking questions trying to figure out why this happened. Guess what? It's 10pm and STILL NO WATER! I have laundry and a pile of dirty dishes and I need to shower and use the toilet. A few months ago they billed us for 15 THOUSAND gallons in one month (physically impossible in our home!), which we had to fight extensively to have corrected. They said they would email us the information on how to fix it but we never received an email. They told us not to pay until it was corrected, as we obviously were not going to pay a bogus 15k gallon bill. They also stated it would take 6 months for a shutoff to happen and said they would not shut it off due to the circumstances being their mistake. Once they fixed the 15k gallon bill, they didn't bother contacting us to let us know it was amended. Eventually we found out and paid a few days ago. Now it has only been about 3 months and we have no water, without notice, despite them promising not to shut it off, saying shut off could only happen after 6 months, and our bill being paid in full prior to the shutoff. We were repeatedly misled and disrespected on the phone, spoken to very rudely and condescendingly, and even hung up on once. The first woman we spoke to at 1:30pm also claimed it was shut off yesterday, despite us using the toilet and sink without issue at 9:30am this morning. This dishonesty, disrespect, and complete lack of care for paying customers is unjustifiable. My wife needs to leave for work in an hour and now is not able to shower or use the bathroom. We can't wash our dishes or cook. And this is the city's fault from start (the absurd bill) to finish (shutting our water off without notice despite saying they wouldn't and us having no balance). Absolutely infuriating how little Fort Lauderdale cares about the well-being of its paying citizens. Shameful. Adding 1 star just for the night shift lady who actually cared enough to get this situation fixed. Apparently we weren't the only ones this happened to and others were given the run around and hung up on all day, too. Poor night shift woman had to deal with all us upset customers her coworkers failed to help or even be polite to. Give her a raise and train the day workers on customer service and manners please 🙏

So many issues getting my trash picked up since day one. But so quick to give violations to homeowners that are doing exactly what the City utilities staff say to do. Code enforcement rude
