The best time to visit is during the middle of the week. Educational museum.

A beautiful garden and museum set in peaceful Princeton. We enjoyed our walk through the grounds.

The gardens are beautiful and they change up the plants they grow each year. Lillies bring out hummingbirds.

Morven was the former residence of the Governor of New Jersey, until after the administration of Governor Byrne. It has become a Museum with Gardens, offering a permanent and revolving exhibits. The permanent exhibit provides interesting background on the house's former residents, including Richard Stockton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Well worth an afternoon! (In case you're wondering the current residence of the Governor is Drumthwacket about a mile further south on Stockton Street. It's a larger home on a bigger property, which occasionally opens for public tours.)

I too am a direct descendant, via the Stockton arm of the family.
It's historic, I would consider taking a young teen and include Rockingham in Rocky Hill in your day. There are some special events so I also recommend reaching out to them
Parking lot is nice. No snack bar.
For those of us who are not sponsors, the standard Morven admission costs $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors. No charge for children 6 and under.
