Brought two of my cats in. Staff was friendly and had a special waiting area for cats. Vet was patient and enjoyed playing with cats.

This place went above and beyond for me. They literally saved my cat’s life. He started throwing up a couple of days ago and I called to schedule an appointment to get him checked out. They didn’t have any, but still fit me into their busy schedule last minute. After that they called to check up on my cat and I am beyond grateful that they did because I though he was getting better, but he was actually not! I was able to rush him back in again and we found out he ate something he wasn’t suppose to. They scheduled him for a surgery right away and did it just in time. I’ve been going to this place for years now and I’ve always loved their quality of care and compassion. But this time, I am just extremely grateful that a place like this exists.

I’m surprised that I’m writing this negative review as this clinic treated my dog with such care and compassion when she was attacked by another dog - We went there everyday for weeks to get her bandages changed. Now I call to make an appointment because my dog’s stomach is looking bloaty and has not pooped in a few days. I call to make schedule an appointment and am told “your dog hasn’t been here since 2020, take him to whatever vet you’ve been seeing.” This was the last vet my dog saw. I may not take my dog for an annual checkup, but last year there was a pandemic and my dog was doing just fine. Just the way the woman spoke to me knowing my dog is in pain was just rude, cold and uncaring.

Medical District Veterinary Clinic is the best! When my dog Archie got sick, they fit her into their busy clinic on short notice, gave her lots of love, and even called the next day to check in and see how she was feeling. Photo is sick Archie at the vet below. She is always excited to go into the vet and never seems nervous. They are compassionate, and excellent with communication, and always available to answer questions. So glad that we found them!

Hi Nayra, thank you for asking! We encourage you to call 312-226-2588 for an appointment. If a client wants a walk-in appointment, we put them on the schedule if we have a doctor available, although there is usually a wait in those cases.
Deloris, thank for your question. We are not able to provide medical advice via the internet. You may call (312) 226 2588 for assistance in regards to this question. We are sorry to hear about your dog and hope you find answers.
They do neuter and the price I am not sure of but you will have to call and ask. Price check around first and the PAWS org. Has good prices for your pet 😉 too check it out 2nd opinion is always better.
No, we do not see rabbits at Medical District Veterinary Clinic.
No, we do not provide free services for cats. If you have a specific concern about your cat we would be happy to discuss with you the options. thank you for inquiring!
Thanks for inquiring, Julissa. Dental cleaning estimates are very hard to make without seeing and knowing about an individual patient and what is affecting them. Dentals can range from being very simple (and relatively cheap) to more complicated (and more expensive), and this solely depends on the nature of the patient’s teeth. The best way to get a good quote is to see one of the doctors for an overall comprehensive exam at which time the teeth can be examined and the needs of the animal can be determined. This is a 60 dollar cost, and this cost would go to the cost of the dental cleaning if needed (meaning you are not charged again). We have seen some dental cleanings start at about 400 dollars if only a cleaning is needed, but this is about the base price to which other needs would be added (such as x-rays, extractions, etc). We hope we can help you make your dog feel better. Just let call and set up an appointment if you are interested or need more information.
Hi Shirlene, We do not like declaws on cats. We ask owners to come in to discuss possible other options that would be less traumatic for the cat.
Yes! I believe check ups are 60 $ but u can always call and ask
I don't believe they do, but you can call them. Also, try anti cruelty society on grand.
Yes an appointment is right they are really GOOD they will help you understand what your options are for you and your pet
Bryan, we are sorry to hear about your cat. Please call (312) 226‑2588, we are unable to guarantee a walk-in appointment, but will do our best to assist if you call.

Yes, you can call (312) 226‑2588 to schedule an appointment. Thank you, have a wonderful day.
Medical District Vet is definitely reasonably priced compared to other vets in the city. Plus I think they do an excellent job. Sounds like your cat should definitely be examined by a vet.
Yes, we do accept CareCredit. Thank you!
No, we do not currently see birds. You can try calling Midwest Bird and Exotic Animal Hospital: 708-453-8181 in Elmwood Park, IL. Sorry to hear about your Dove.
Hello! Thanks for your interest in our clinic. Without seeing your dog, we can't really know what your dog might need and the associated costs. If you'd like to see one of our doctors, you can call us at 312-226-2588.
Hi Anais: A walk-in exam is $60. We’d have to review records to know what shots are due, but generally rabies shots are about $60 with an obligatory Cook County rabies tag. Other expenses may include diagnostics or medications depending on the problem. With red skin of any kind, sometimes over-the-counter meds can be given.
They do walkins but they prefer appointments. Their very nice and helpful.
