I paid online on booking.com Showed the the guy my receipt and confirmation. He said booking doesn't take payments online that I was lieing. Tried to make me pay cash. When I already paid online. When I tried to call booking and asked for his manager. He gave me my cash back. They stealing from the customers.

Amboy has very few Motels and Hotels. I believe there are a total of five within the area or so. For the age of the place, it's in decent condition. NO coffee or machines in any rooms. We stayed two nights on the second floor in room 244. The TV and WiFi did work well. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Water pressure (or the shower head itself) were awful. Hardly enough water came out to get the soap off. Ice buckets were in the rooms, but could not locate any ice machines no matter how long we looked. We did use the huge truck wash across the street for our 30 foot Rig. That was very helpful and only $55. Motel does offer ample parking for big rigs and RV's in the very front. The thing we despised the most about Amboy and New Jersey in general was the terrible no left turn laws. I have traveled the world for over two decades and NEVER seen anything the resembles the traffic laws of this state. This motel is way overpriced for what they offer. Around $90 to $100 gets you a basic room with no real amenities to speak of. Walls are very thin and noise can be heard from neighbors easily. We normally pay about $70 per night for the exact same thing everywhere else in the USA with several extras such as a simple breakfast, pool, gym, coffee etc. The only reason I'm giving four stars is there are no other options in this area and we did sleep ok.

It is my second time at a Knights in motel. The first one was in Massachusetts where it had outdated brown linen and did not have enough pillows. Upon my arrival here, of course as a non-smoking room it’s still smell like smoke just like the previous experience. However the linens look like 3 star quality with a white comforter with 4 fluffy pillows, a generous sized mini fridge, and a microwave with a computer desk and a very comfy computer chair. The AC worked very well. The only thing that I was upset with was that when I returned from brunch, I noticed my towels were missing even though my bed was not made so I was just going to call front desk to deliver towels. But then the cleaning ladies arrived to which I invited them in to clean my room and asked for towels which they gave me, however they did not clean my bed while I was in the room. Otherwise the cost of it was worthwhile for the type of hotel it was. Make sure to bring Lysol though.
