Absolutely the worst treatment and care of all persons in search of help. Please be advised that the inhumane conditions and lack of care will inevitably cause further trauma. Their use of punishment and violations of Patient's Bill of Rights is shameful. Stray dogs are treated with more kindness. I would also like to add that once I came home I had to be treated for a raging UTI. I requested my medical records and found that while at Novant, Leukocytes were detected in my urine and I was never treated for it. When will someone seriously investigate this hospital?

If I could put zero stars I would. All departments at Nhrmc have been extremely unprofessional, condescending, incompetent and outright rude. The staff do not seem to know how/where to transfer calls. I am constantly being rerouted several times in one call. When asking questions I am not given appropriate answers or explanations when I am given access about specific patients to know certain information. Whenever I have asked for a staff members name, they just put me on hold or hang up on me! This has happened MULTIPLE times so they purposely do not get in trouble because they know they are about to get a complaint. Nobody takes responsibility both in the behavioral hospital and ER. Considering this is a HOSPITAL, you would think staff would be compassionate since patients AND their loved ones are going through a tough time. 95% of the staff I have encountered have been the complete opposite. This is clearly not the field or career these staff members need to be in.

They did not help our 18 year old son and let him leave without notifying us! So he immediately got in trouble with the law. 😰

I asked them if they had any beds open for mental health services and she said she cannot give that information away which is a lie because I’ve called plenty of places and asked. She said I have to drive up here and ask the people in the emergency room New Hanover County is an hour away I cannot drive all the way up there just to be told no.
