This place will never be the same now that they’ve switched. If you want good food, go to Lucille’s BBQ located in Rocklin (near Roseville). You can buy gift cards worth $100 for $80 (sometimes $70) @ the Costcos in Citrus Heights and Roseville.

Texas West now under new ownership and a different name Kyng BBQ. I've had food here when it was Texas West and it was so delicious... nicely cooked meat, loaded sandwiches with a great BBQ sauce on the meat and extra cup of sauce. Today I ordered 6 sandwiches for our shop (brisket, tri tip and pulled pork) order was ready on time for pick up, but once back at the shop noticed none of the sandwiches had any BBQ sauce on any of the meat and came with a small cup of sauce to put on it, which #1 was half filled #2 very watered down #3 lacking much flavor. Mine (pulled pork) had good amount of meat, but was really dry. The watered down BBQ sauce was of zero help and not enough which did nothing for improving taste or dryness. To compound the experience I requested additional sauce online when ordering and utensils for everyone. Yep you guessed it no extra sauce for anyone and no utensils. Very disappointed wish the previous owners still ran the place. Guess will need to look for another place to go to.

Very tasty smokey flavours. Ordered platter with loin ribs and chicken leg and thigh and a tri tip burrito. Note all online prices are incorrect, mentioned that to staff to have it corrected, plan on adding $5 to anything you see online. Wonderful flavours but the chicken was OLD and leathery and very dark bruised meat, ribs were good and fresh. The tritip burrito was good but almost broke a tooth with a piece of bone in it. Also note they charge extra if you pay by card
