We loved it. The place is a good getaway for a long weekend given weather permits. We rented a cabin. Free access to kayaks, canoes, paddle boat all day. Totally worth it.

Did this camp ever share the facilities with Camp Wiquanuppek for girls?

Hi Janet, Michikamau started as a boys camp at K-4 which is the other side of the dam. Michikamau moved to the current K-5 location when K-4 became the YWCA girls camp, Wiquannupek. In time, Michikamau became co-ed and the YWCA closed down Wiquannupek. After being empty for around a decade (I believe!) we, the YMCA of Greater Bergen County, moved our day camp (Oratam) to K-4, the former home of Wiquannupek, and is still there now. I am unsure of the exact dates of any of this, I apologise.

I went here when I was younger I was 15 16 and I was a senior camper it was a fun summer.
